HBO's "Game of Thrones"

That was kind of weird. I think he has some like for Tyrion. He is a greedy merc., no doubt, but I think he respects Tyrion and likely would not kill him.
Yea, if that's the way they want to finish out his character I don't agree at all. His manner towards Jamie and Tyrion was very hostile or filled with hatred. Like he had been a servant or slave of them. He didn't seem hostile to them when he was on a bed in King's Landing with several whores when Qyburn actually approached him. He didn't seem hostile when he was on the battlefield fighting with and saving Jamie's life. He didn't seem hostile when he and Tyrion were re-united after his return from Essos. And he certainly wasn't hostile when Tyrion pleaded for Bronn to be his champion against The Mountain in season 4.

Maybe Bronn is largely motivated by money, but his relationship with Jamie and Tyrion has been far closer to a friend than a foe for the entire series. If a character turns, there needs to be some story and events that cause it.

Watched a nice YT conspiracy video. The Iron Bank may still be relevant, Cersei paid them off in full...but it also removed any reason for them to assist her or back her.

To sum up the 12 min video, when Cersei owed the Iron Bank 10 million gold her death would essentially mean they lost all that gold. Now she has repaid them (and likely won’t borrow more from them) they will perhaps fund another force so they can have an alliance on firm ground with whomever rules Westeros...
The Iron bank loaned her gold to fund The Golden Company fighting for her. She's already borrowed from them again I think.

Bronn scene made no sense, I'll be 100% honest. I get that you're trying to "show" he made it to Winterfell and all that but why? What was the purpose of it.

I'm very curious to see what Euron sees in the (we assume) sky that shocked him so much...part of me hopes for more dragons, or even a dragon in full armor...could also simply be that Dany surprises him or something, who knows.

Could be Yara & the rest of the Ironborn fleet coming back into the battle.

I really, really...REALLY dislike Jon becoming Aegon in the show.

I much rather enjoy the book version of Aegon and that we're still unsure of who Jon is (although we still believe he has the same parents).

This way my guess after watching the preview. 1 dragon was taken down from a ground attack with a spear, even if it was the NK. The second dragon was taken down my multiple bolts from ballista.

I'd think it would have to be pretty stout armor though to stop penetration. They've established those things have some force behind them.

He's going to be the King of Highgarden. We are going to come full, full circle and revert back to 7 kingdoms.

I don't think she is built to be anything other than supreme ruler. She is Targaryen and while she believes she is the best ruler for all the people, it has been her sole life focus and I don't think she will give it up for any cost. I am pretty sure she dies, but you never know.
Between achieving the Iron Throne, or a tragic death, there could be an intermediate scenario that could work for her ... be on some throne back on the EAST side. She did mention this week how she has not felt loved in Westeros like she was back over there.

So they made it a point to show all the people streaming into King’s Landing for ‘protection’ from Dany, and Cersei later says to keep the gates open to bring more people in to use as basically human shields.

Is that one possibility, some infiltration of King’s Landing perhaps already occurring by forces loyal to Dany?

In that same scene when Cersei tells Euron about ‘their’ child he looks to Qyburn as if for confirmation and gets it.

Does Qyburn have his own play here?

That's the "how" Arya gets in easily. Qyburn is as he said "mouthpiece for Our Queen" she tells him to tell Euron it's his baby he gonna do it.

This is the “typical Hollywood” thing, that somehow we always get a happy ending...somewhat.

Novels, some of the greatest books don’t bend to those rules. Most of what has been published of A Song of Fire and Ice isn’t typical Hollywood so fans of GoT the story are simply disappointed to see HBO & writers so obviously changing things.

It’s not like I want everything to be doom and gloom, but most of us book & show fans would have just enjoyed the thing to be true to Martin’s original story. Granted him not having finished the series complicated the show doing that. Life isn’t always a happy ending, for some fans it’s not always a bad thing to see fair representation on screen of the harshness of life.
This show has more than enough representation of the "harshness of life"

I’m not sure Arya or the Hound would need that to find a way into the city, given their history.

One other thing, in the trailer for episode 5 they have a quick shot of the Golden Company marching and you can see a tall hooded figure that looks like he has walked through them in the opposite direction.

Could be the Hound but perhaps someone else?

We were talking the other day about how the book endings may be different from the shows, and how GRRM could take a wildly different direction - well, I found this quote last night. View attachment 204571
Supposedly, Jaime was never supposed to become a good guy. In an early outline, he was meant to kill Joffrey and all would be successors, blame it on Tyrion, and take the throne for himself. We see how that has changed.

I really hope he finishes the books bc I will want to read his ending as I think it could vary drastically from the show’s and hopefully be more fulfilling. The most disappointing ending so far was the NK’s. GRRM had so much history behind him and it was setup for there to be some big reveal/twist at his death. Instead we got Bran in a chair and Arya flying.

TV is finishing this too quickly and it is showing in the plot holes/lack of depth. Hopefully GRRM finishes what he started and gives it a proper ending.
Your idea of a proper ending being everyone worth a crap in this world dead?

You're far to defensive about this topic Ulysees, it's going to end how they wrote it...nothing we do changes that, attacking one another's opinion over what's the "right" way to end it directly or indirectly isn't changing anything that is going to happen in the last 2 episodes.

My personal "winning" ending would be Cersei is taken out (and Arya lives), Dany and Jon both survive but Dany humbles herself and bends the knee to Jon who has the best claim, she returns to the East to keep the slave trade from starting back up. Sansa the warden of the North and Jon the King of the Seven Kingdoms.

Where the hell did I say that?
I'm just asking, that seems to be the only satisfying ending for folks that don't want a "Hollywood" ending. There are only 8 major characters left..three Starks, one half Stark/half Targaryen, one full Targaryen, and three Lannisters..how many you want dead? I bet when it's said and done, all will be dead except Sansa and maybe Tyrion. Then what will the gripe be? I think there is an outside chance Jon lives, but I'm leaning dead.
