HBO's "Game of Thrones"

You're far to defensive about this topic Ulysees, it's going to end how they wrote it...nothing we do changes that, attacking one another's opinion over what's the "right" way to end it directly or indirectly isn't changing anything that is going to happen in the last 2 episodes.

My personal "winning" ending would be Cersei is taken out (and Arya lives), Dany and Jon both survive but Dany humbles herself and bends the knee to Jon who has the best claim, she returns to the East to keep the slave trade from starting back up. Sansa the warden of the North and Jon the King of the Seven Kingdoms.
The only opinions that I'm attacking are the ones that are only satisfied with a crappy ending. You know the ones who incessantly bitch how the show sucks because it is too "Hollywood".

"Crappy ending" is personal preference, surely you're not so self center to think only YOUR opinion is of value in the discussion...you don't strike me as narcissistic. A bit of an a-hole, but not a narcissistic one exactly.

My opinion is that they all die...and it sucks to end it that way. I was hopeful for more sweet in the promised "bittersweet" ending. Them taking Dany down this path has confirmed that they are going to follow the worst paths the story could have taken...So IMO It will just be bitter...no sweet. I don't get liking crap like the Mist ending, it is weird and alien to me. It leaves you feeling empty, and depressed, I get enough of that garbage in the real world.

And I'm not a a-hole. I'm different, but most people that know me, like me. I argue with my brothers and sisters exactly like I do you guys on here.

I'm just asking, that seems to be the only satisfying ending for folks that don't want a "Hollywood" ending. There are only 8 major characters left..three Starks, one half Stark/half Targaryen, one full Targaryen, and three Lannisters..how many you want dead? I bet when it's said and done, all will be dead except Sansa and maybe Tyrion. Then what will the gripe be? I think there is an outside chance Jon lives, but I'm leaning dead.
I could see GRRM going a totally different route than the one the show is currently taking. That was the point of my post.

As far as a "proper" ending, my idea of that has more to do with how he would get there. The show killed off the NK in a very unsatisfactory way not because of who killed him or the battle scene not being cool, but because all of the NK's backstory was pretty much thrown out, and he wound up being nothing more than a physical representation of death and evil. His character has more depth than that in GRRM's world.

If GRRM decides to kill off everybody in the books, then I believe it would be done properly with logical connections to past events and information. I don't want everyone to die. I'd like for Jon and Dany to survive and re institute Targaryen rule over Westeros. They are the two characters in the show who have done the most good for the sake of doing good. However, it looks like Dany is going to die, and I think it might be Jon who does it.

I did say "a bit of one" ;)

It's all good, I'm the same way. I honestly don't expect a "kill everyone" ending, mainly because it's not Martin steering the boat...although they could go that route trying to make it more like Martin is writing it as well.

I don't know how it ends, they've had ample chances to drop some main characters and didn't...you'll notice most that are still around even the "minor" ones are fan favorites (Brienne, Tormund, Davos, Ghost...etc.) so it's looking less like a Rogue One type ending and more like a possible LOTR style.

I told some guys here at work who watch...we'll know how much influence Martin has by how it ends.

If both Dany & Jon live and neither has to die for one to sit the throne = Martin likely wasn't very involved

If both die or one dies etc. and something unforseen/tragic happens = Martin had some hand in it

Respect that.

HBO has plans for spinoffs

In the trailer, Euron seemed to see something that surprised him.
If I'm remembering the preview right immediatly before that they showed clouds and sun. What I'm thinking is Dany/drogon are attacking out of the sun. Much like bombers/fighters did in WW2. I think he's startled/scared cause he knows they're there/ can hear them, but can't see anything.

it is definitely time for Dany to have some counter. She's had two dragons taken out by spears/arrows and has been hit by the scorpion twice as well.

Here's the thing. When Dany attacked him and Jaime with the dragons, Bronn chose to save Jaimie over scooping up his gold and riding away. Now all of the sudden, he doesnt give af?

He didn't want the gold, he want a castle and to be a Lord. He didn't bet on Jaime ditching Cersei and thought Jaime was his lottery ticket. Now he is fed up and wants the easiest path to his goal.

Bronns likability has made people think he is something he's not....a good guy.

When Missandei was on the wall, I was expecting her to say "valar morghulis" loud enough for the Golden Company to hear her
I thought saying - growling - "Dracarys" was even better. For once, D&D wrote something that made the arm hairs rise. She told Dany to burn it down!

For all those going on about the birth of the Mad Queen, there's a difference between rage and insanity. I don't know that Dany is insane. Snarling while walking away is hardly an act of insanity. We'll just have to see what she does next week (purportedly the battle to end all battles.) Or even more, maybe what she starts to do, and then backs off. To be continued!

Jaime dies.
Arya kills Cersei. Arya lives. She disentangles herself to find her own fate, which is left to mystery.
The Hound kills The Mountain and dies from his own mortal wounds.
Drogon dies defending Daenerys.
If Daenerys doesn't die, she is humbled. Dragonless, she takes the throne in Kings Landing, receives the fealty of some, but accepts alliance with Sansa, who becomes Queen of the North.
If Jon doesn't die, he is weary of the game he never wanted to play. Having seen a peace which mostly satisfies the players, he goes north of the wall to live among the wildlings and find some personal peace.
Tyrion and Varys survive and remain advisors to Queen Daenerys.
Bronn has no remaining friends and departs with the surviving members of the Golden Company.
Euron Greyjoy dies. He's either burned to death by Drogon, killed by Jaime, or killed by Yara.
Qyburn dies. Horribly, I suspect.
Grey Worm dies, or he lives and leaves for Naath with a handful of Unsullied after Daenerys takes the throne.
Brienne remains in the north to serve Sansa.
Gendry lives and takes up the lordship of the Baratheon's castle home and lands.
Samwell takes up the lordship of his families seat.
Podrick remains in the north and swears fealty to Sansa.
The fates of some other characters may be left unstated - Septa, Ellaria...

Another one of my questions: Does HBO have a spinoff set for the near future? One where there might be good reason for keeping much of the cast alive? Or perhaps having some babies born like Jon/Dany or Jaime/Brienne? (Or heaven forbid, the one Cercei is carrying. Right now, I don't think she is really carrying one)

Bronn was promised Highgarden.

He's gonna make sure that's paid up since "a Lannister always pays their debts" and he got that from two of them.

No, Jaime will be dead. Tyrion is sworn to Daenerys. Others in power will not grant him Highgarden. His departure from Westeros will be a mercy - he won't be executed.
