HBO's "Game of Thrones"

They don't know Dany's point of view because they have not read the books. That is why it is so easy for show watchers to buy this hideous transformation into a baby killing freak.
we know the only one that's been given....

what you have is a prior frame of reference. that's different. neither POV is right or wrong.....(i know you believe otherwise, no need to go there.)

But isn't that what makes GOT stand out? I know it did for me, but it's all a matter of personal preference.
I think you have to have some realism, obviously and sacrifice is a recurring theme. I do agree it is a personal preference. I thought the am Red Wedding was awesome. It was the ultimate game on.

I have to say that a dragon that could lay that kind of waste probably is strong enough to survive a scorpion strike to the body.

Outside of Tolkien and GOT, I don't really read or watch much fantasy. It just isn't a genre I normally enjoy, so I'm not really the best to comment on what is "enough" realism in fantasy. The bar is pretty high for me, the more morally gray, realistic, and dark/screwed up the story, the better. Probably why I like GOT so much lol.

I forget exactly what the event is called, but Martin pulled a lot of inspiration for the Red Wedding from a historical event in Medieval England. Basically the dudes invited other dudes to stay with them under their protection, then proceeded to murder them all in the night.

Looked it up: 1440 Black Dinner in Scotland

Show and the books aren’t one and the same. John Grisham books always had give up endings while the movies stuck the landing.

And he did already when Bronn shot him. Maybe Rhaegal could’ve too. Bet Drogon would’ve bit it if he got one through the neck tho.
