that goes both ways a lot of those so called top prospects wouldn't even come TN to visit and camp. like it was insulting to be asked to camp or something. of those bigger names that we could have probably gotten, wilhoite, washington, knox and that other db from ensworth, only Knox came and camped.A lot of these in-state kids will listen to the Vols if they’re shown some love early. If we slow play and ignore them then they won’t.
These kids are leaving the state for Clemson, LSU, Ohio State, UGA, and even Oregon. It’s not like they’re going to LA Tech and Ball State. It just seems like missed opportunities for us which hurt us long term with the high school. We’re allowing pipelines to our rivals.
and that's fine. like i said, comging off 9-15 the past two years, and getting some of the guys we did at the top of hte class is really good.7th in SEC / 3rd in East is definitely in the C range.
You seem savvy with recruiting. Any idea how Bama has 26 commits? I thought maximum is 25.and that's fine. like i said, comging off 9-15 the past two years, and getting some of the guys we did at the top of hte class is really good.
i think we mismanaged some other spots, that could have been a lot better...WR nad DL specifically.
still have 2 5* and the #1 back in TN on the table.
i like this class b/c of the needs it fills at OL and DB. it could have been a lot better at DL, LB and WR.
will have anywhere from 8-10 more kids added to this class depending on what happens with our 3 unsigned committments, and if they stick or not.
it's not going to get an a+ for top 5-9 type class. it could totally still get a solid B. this isn't the class that gets you to championship contention. it is the type of class that gets it started in that direction.
because.............bama. duh.You seem savvy with recruiting. Any idea how Bama has 26 commits? I thought maximum is 25.
When the VN Hall of Fame is built, someone please make sure i am honored for holding
the record for winning a box of Jiffy via bet on VN the quickest. TIA
i think you answered your own question in the first part of this post. the state of the program isn't great. and hasn't been for 3 years.Funny. But trying to wipe history clean is as silly as trying to blame Lyle for everything. It took the continued mismanagement by a group of people, including Lyle, to drive the program to its current state. Sorry. Those are facts.
That said, it’s on Pruitt to fix it. I’m not exactly blown away by any aspect of his tenure so far including recruiting. For me, I’m hopeful but the jury is definitely still out.
just keep in mind there are some unsigned early enrollees out there as well, like Crouch, that wont' be "re recruited". they'll be on a campus somewhere by the time the programs start recruiting again to finish their classes. If you’re giving a B grade you must be counting Wright and Crouch already. I hope we get those guys but it’s not a sure thing.
Something like 75% of recruits are expected to sign this week. The remaining 25% get a hyper focus from coaches at all schools between now and Feb. The full court press will be on for just the 3* players. Imagine the intensity for blue chippers.
wanya morris, eric gray (in about 45 min), jalen mcollough, ramel keyton, jackson lowe, jackson lampley and Tyus Fields all disagree.Doesn't seem to be able to close the deal with the elite recruits(or coaches for that matter). C-
no, they wouldn't, but all things being relative, to say they're "happy" with all things kriby smart would be erroneous. lol.I'm gonna step out on the ledge and say most UGA fans wouldn't trade places with us Vol fans right now.
To get into the top ten ? Averaged about 3.5 for the first 20. Tall order to average 4.3 for the remaining six. An average slightly about 3.5 is more likely. Has anyone officially from UT stated how many recruits we expect to sign for this class ?
