Herschel Walker channeling his inner Travis Henry

I live in Knoxville...

If you live in Georgia, you need to vote for Herschel, he represents your level of integrity.

Herschel Walker mocked over false claim he was FBI agent: "Humiliating lie"

^^^^ He was lying about many things which are easily fact-checked. This is probably the worst. How pathetic.
Personally, I wouldn't vote for either of those idiots, but you get what you ask for. I'd rather a Republican win because they come closer to representing what I believe in than a progressive liberal does.

I'm not sure if there is an audio recording of it, or not ... he didn't say it was a joke, but if you were wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt over that one... I guess that's up to each individual interpretation. Most of these lies are not open to individual interpretation, however. He was lying his butt off about being a college graduate, and he knows it. It was listed under the campaign bio, on his official web site. He didn't just lie about being a graduate either, he went as far as to say that he finished in the top 1% of his class. That took balls.

I really would like to give the guy a break. I think most of these lies are attributable to mental illness, but it's not as easy to do that, with him running for a seat in the United States Senate. He should be scrutinized just like every other candidate would be. The guy has issues.

There is a difference between misspeaking and lying. There is a difference between making a mistake with a comment and lying. The liars at CNN go through hours and hours of things said and things written about things said over decades and frame anything not spoken 100% correctly as a lie.

Now back to CNN’s stories on Hillary’s Russia Russia Russia findings and Joe’s statements on Hunter’s business dealings.

True ... but Herschel Walker has claimed for many years that he went back to the University of Georgia, and completed his degree. As time passed, getting away with that, emboldened him to add layers to it. As of 2017, he began telling audiences for his motivational speeches, that he had "finished in the top 1% of his graduating class in college." There is no mistaking that for what it was ... a lie.

Or maybe a harmless exaggeration in some motivational speeches. Exactly how many times did he say it? Was he in the top 1% of his high school class? What was his GPA while still enrolled at GA? The liars at CNN won’t report anything that doesn’t frame their enemies as lunatics. I wish they’d dig this deep into and report this selectively on Joe’s comments about Hunter.

Motivational speakers and retired athletes aren’t necessarily held to high standards. Which “lies” have been made since Herschel has been a declared candidate?

I think that he is more naive than dumb. I don’t necessarily believe that he is dishonest. At least on important matters.

I wouldn’t vote for him. I don’t believe that he is qualified to be a US Senator. But Dawg fans are idiots so perhaps he’ll be elected based on his football heroics.

I think it's pretty clear that these are lies, but you can decide for yourself. Fwiw, I agree with you a lot in the sports forums.

Watch these videos, and then tell me what you think. Are these lies, or not?

^^^^ This is a motivational speech from 2017. Herschel Walker is talking to a classroom of high school kids. From the 1:10 to 1:18 point in the video, he tells them that he was the Valedictorian of his high school class (not true), and he also tells them that he graduated from the University of Georgia, while finishing in the top 1% of his class (also not true).

^^^^ This is an appearance that Herschel made on a Sirius XM show in 2017. From the 8:10 to 8:18 point in the video, he repeats what he said to the kids verbatim, which makes it seem like something that he had rehearsed saying, or something that he has repeated numerous times in speeches. He knows it by heart.

Fact check: Herschel Walker falsely claims he never falsely claimed he graduated from University of Georgia - CNNPolitics

^^^^ This is where Herschel Walker recently denied that he ever said that he had graduated from the University of Georgia.

“I was in the top 1% of my graduating class at GA”.

Again, what exactly are the facts? What is his GPA relative to his class (he didn’t redshirt, his “class” is the group that he entered college with). Top 1% of what? Entrance exams? High school GPAs? Splitting hairs, but he didn’t say that he graduated in the top 1% of his class. Maybe his GPA was in the 99th percentile of his class when he left. Even if it was only for a single grading period, it isn’t necessarily an incorrect statement. I think that he’s more likely exaggerating than anything.

I also wonder what leads him to believe that he was his high school valedictorian. Exactly where did he rank? The fact checkers aren’t filling in the details. And I find it really amusing that the liars at CNN are on a mission to catch anybody in a lie.

You are making this more complicated than it needs to be.

Herschel Walker is not a graduate of the University of Georgia. By telling people that he was in the top 1% of a "graduating class", he identified himself as a member of a class of college graduates from the University of Georgia.

Top 1% of what? Entrance exams? High school GPAs? Splitting hairs, but he didn’t say that he graduated in the top 1% of his class.
.... of the fellow students at the University of Georgia that he supposedly graduated with!

In the top video, Herschel did say that he graduated in the top 1% of his class at the University of Georgia! Sheesh. You are trying way too hard here.

From the 1:05 until the 1:19 point of this video, Herschel Walker's exact words are :

"All of a sudden, I started going to the library and getting books, and standing in front of a mirror and reading to myself. So that Herschel that all the kids said are retarded, become valedictorian of his class... Graduated at the University of Georgia at the top 1% of his class."

He is not articulate, and he frequently refers to himself in the 3rd person, but that is what he said.

I think you are trying to take a handful of examples that you are familiar with, such Ocasio-Cortez, Pressley and Omar, and apply them as the norm. No, that is not accurate. There are 218 Democrats in the House pf Representatives, and not all of them were bartenders when they got elected.
I'm not concerned that she was a bartender before she was elected. I'm more concerned about her views and the people pulling her strings. Which are the same people pulling the strings of 95% of Democrats in the house and senate.

In the other video he said that he was in the top 1% of his (graduated) class - not that he GRADUATED in the top 1%. “Was”. “Top 1%” without any detail - did he say that his “cumulative GPA is in the top 1% of students that I graduated with”? Nope. Not in that video. He could have had a top 1% GPA of his class in any single semester and what he said in that one wasn’t a lie. Unless the liars at CNN report it that way.

The other video seems to be in a small room with just a few people there. Nothing burger. He wasn’t speaking to thousands (and millions on TV) at an RNC convention. And when was this one exactly? Was he taking his meds for the dissociative identity disorder at this time and if yes were they effective? Herschel is a famous person with thousands of recorded hours of things he has uttered. If it is so important to CNN what a former athlete / motivational speaker has said, why is it so unimportant to them what lies Hillary and Biden have spewed? What's relevant is what he says today and is it on important matters? Not how CNN wants to paint the picture of the man using a tiny fraction of things he’s said over decades of motivational speeches. CNN wants to cancel him because he is threatening to take a seat in the Senate away from a democrat.

Where did Joe Biden, the freaking POTUS, say that he graduated in his law class?

^^^^ From the 8:09 to 8:16 point in the above video, Herschel Walker says this :

"People say, 'Herschel, you played football,' but I say, 'Guys, I was also valedictorian of my class. I was also in the top 1% of my graduating class in college."

^^^^ In this last sentence, Herschel Walker is identifying himself as being a member of a graduating class from college. That is a lie. Herschel is not a member of a graduating class from college, because by his admission, Herschel does not have a college degree. Your hang up (besides being stubborn, and not wanting to admit when you are wrong), is with the term "graduating class." You are not accurately interpreting its meaning.

Let me explain it to you : " .... my graduating class in college."

YOU ARE ONLY A MEMBER OF A GRADUATING CLASS FROM A COLLEGE ... IF YOU DID, IN FACT, GRADUATE FROM THAT COLLEGE.

Right. He was speaking to a class room of high school kids, who assumed that he was telling them the truth.

is that worse than speaking to the country about inflation and lying about it?
No. Lying is lying.

I can't believe some of the arguments @Thunder Good-Oil is making here. Herschel has clearly lied about being a graduate of the University of Georgia. If you can't see that, then there is something wrong with your own interpretive skills.

So you are lying that he said “graduating”.

But Biden has Herschel beat on lies by at least a 1000 percent and yet you defend him at all cost.
