Just because you see him covering his mouth on the sidelines doesn't necessarily mean he's "calling" the play. He could just as easily (more likely) be "relaying" a play sent down to him from the OC in the booth.Do people not watch the games and see that CJH calls the offensive plays? The cameras show him almost every offensive play covering his face while he is talking to Nico
As soon as they full game replay is posted, I will show you why we struggle this year compared to 2022. On the pass that was high and behind Squirrel, the left slot receiver had 4 or 5 steps 20 yards further downfield for a walk in TD. Nico doesn't see that yet and Hendon did. Hendon was a lot older and had far more experience. Then modify your system coach Heupel because the offense isn’t productive enough. Running 3 plays at tempo is creating more problems for our offense than it is the opposing defense.
Except he doesn't need help with the offense.Even Nick Saban hired former head coaches to fix Bama's offense. It wouldn't make Heupel any less of a head coach to admit that he needs help with the Vols offense. Hazle is going to endurance getting Heupel fired if he keeps him around for another season.
People would probably actually respect him more, because they would know he was willing to do what it takes to win a championship for the Vols.
We have guys running wide open in space just as we did in 2022, Nico just doesn't see them yet.Wr's don't get open. When they do they drop it. Nico isn't great, may never be. Oline can't hold blocks against decent Olines. Calling plays around all that probably isn't very easy..They could swap up the vanilla every now and then I suppose.. It's all far to predictable. I also think he's playing with a QB that has been slow to figure out stuff. They're not even running the hurry up much. Offense has been shat this year and is going to cost this team a playoff spot.
If people would watch the game replays and instead of watching the ball, watch the other players, you can see we have the same opportunities we did in 2022, we either don't see them or over throw them.No he doesn't. He wasn't ready for this type of competition I don't believe. California football isn't Southern football.
His g/f plays basketball at Miami, doubt she’s on the court while pregnant.Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Carson Beck also solved his off the field distraction related to a pregnant girlfriend he married (some UGA fan was talking about it).
Tennessee can't catch a break. You will fine that out as Vols fans, one of the unluckiest programs in the SEC.
Losing to Arkansas really hurt the season.
The passing game has been shat. He had two opportunities at the end of the Arkansas game to beat them and didn't see it. He's definitely part of the issue. Hopefully he's better next year. I'm glad we continue to recruit QB's. I'm not sure this is the guy just yet.If people would watch the game replays and instead of watching the ball, watch the other players, you can see we have the same opportunities we did in 2022, we either don't see them or over throw them.
Heupel only hires his buds I guess.Heuple cannot keep on holding onto this STRICTLY VANILLA CALLING wannabe OC. This is unacceptable to all VOL fans and to the university. Do yourself a favor, give him whatever money is in his contract and go get a great OC. I posted earlier this week that it would come down who could call a better game..........and I was right. Bobo beat Halzle, and almost every other offensive , defensive coach. Our special teams were the only coaches that did their job tonight. You will never have a SEC championship , let alone any other championship until you get rid of him. To all Vol fans, until we realize this, and more importantly, Heupel realizes it, Tennessee will not win another championship with him as an OC.
He may call the plays but the OC comes up with the game plan and presents him with the game plans. Also the last two years we have seen the same type of passes you talk about from two different qbs so that is qb development and that falls on our OC as he is our qb coach.CJH calls the plays. Also we have 2 different passing offenses.
1. Overthrows
2. Drops
He just don't see the field like Hendon did. The game is still fast for him, which is why we can't go at break neck speed like 2022. He needs that extra time to read coverage. The passing game has been shat. He had two opportunities at the end of the Arkansas game to beat them and didn't see it. He's definitely part of the issue. Yes. I said what I said. He's a bust so far. He's no true freshman. He's a red shirt. He's almost done with his 2nd year on the team. This kid was supposed to be game ready day 1. That's how good he was supposed to be. And let's not pretend that true, not redshirt, freshman can't come in and get it done. We've been beat by enough of them in the last 20 years to know that that is not true. He's not a third string QB walk on forced in due to injury. He's our first choice.A freshman is a bust? Good lord. Some of you all should make a vow not to post until yall sober up.

We don't need to sober up. You sunshine pumpers need to get real. We have a good team. But we are losing games because what should be the strongest part of our team is choking week in and week out.
Good grief shuddup already.Yes. I said what I said. He's a bust so far. He's no true freshman. He's a red shirt. He's almost done with his 2nd year on the team. You actually think Halzle is calling a play, relaying it to CJH, then CJH relays it to Nico, then they line up and adjust to the defense? There isn't enough time for that. That's not how it works. And he doesn't need a play call sheet to repeat what's being called in his ear. Idk why this is so hard to believe. Watch Andy Reid, watch Lane Kiffin. It's so completely obvious when a HC is calling plays. I'm not saying Halzle isn't in his ear recommending plays or giving updates on personnel, but this offense is CJH's baby and it has been the entire time he's been a HC.Just because you see him covering his mouth on the sidelines doesn't necessarily mean he's "calling" the play. Why is this concept so unbelievable?
