Hey, I Might NOT Be Dying

I appreciate that man, I really do. Thank you! Yeah man your good to take me off! I just got finished with physical therapy and have my last orthopedic Dr's appointment in Nashville next friday and I'll be done for good I hope!

Which Dr did your surgery? When my daughter tore her ACL Dr. Moore performed her surgery and did a great job.

Did you use the services of the discharge pharmacy there? My girlfriend helped get that program up and running and is a coordinator for it.

Yes, I did. Extremely helpful. Loaded me down with lots of meds, lol.

Love seeing you posting. Waiting on the day you're back at 100%. I'll know when you get there, because you'll be threatening me in some small way😬

Yeah..... I got nothing. Maybe Jerry and Ben can help me out.

:p

First milkshake is on me when you get the green flag.

You betcha! Right now, I'm just looking forward to getting home to Knoxville. Doctor thinks I'm at least two weeks away. The apartment I'm in is better than the hospital, but it's just not home.

Weezer, being able to follow your story in this thread has been a profound experience for me. Just wanted to say thanks for giving us the opportunity to do that.

Man, I know what you mean about getting out of the hospital, but Home Sweet Home will beat anything. I can't even begin to imagine how your life and mind set have changed over the past few months. It has to be like standing on a cliff and knowing maybe you're going to fall over and then suddenly you're on the peak and looking over the beautiful landscape below.

Some days I'm still on that cliff as I wonder about how life altering this has been, but it hasn't stopped me from taking in the view and appreciating the beauty of life.

The body's 43, but it feels a lot older now, lol.

Holy crap. I just always assumed you had a little less tread on the tires with this kind of illness. Crazy to think you've got that kind of life perspective to go into the next 50 years of your life with the new liver. Congrats on the successes

Thanks, Weezer! Thank you for taking us on your tumultuous journey with you. I won't speak for anyone else, but you have certainly helped me keep things in perspective. This is coming from someone that has dealt with death and disease for a very long time. Something about following this from a different perspective than I normally do has been good for me. Thank you!

Nonalcoholic cirrhosis has to be the cruelest joke in the book. Like that's straight out of the Book of Job

It is odd to me. Its like a preacher friend I knew back home, he died from throat cancer. The man never smoked, or chewed tobacco.

I can't say I've never drank, but after thorough questioning from a few different doctors, they all agreed I didn't drink enough for it to be the direct cause. Could it have contributed? Possibly, but after looking at family history, they think that played a bigger role than anything. My dad had fatty liver that became cirrhosis, which in turn became cancer. My mom has fatty liver but luckily, it has remained that and not become cirrhosis. I was told years ago I had fatty liver, so I knew about that, but unfortunately, it became cirrhosis.

Wweezer.

I think I have a stomach virus. At least I hope that's all it is. I've been so sick to my stomach since yesterday. I called the liver transplant office, and they said to keep an eye on my temp. If it gets over 100.5*, then I may need to go to the ER.
