Holly vs Uconn

The most highly esteemed coach in the history of the women's game decided to discontinue the series with Connecticut (at a time when her team was handling the Huskies) for a reason.

That says enough for me.

Exactlyyyyyyyy.....Pat had lost in recruiting battles before, yet had never canceled a series with any other team. Hell like someone said she was coming off a NC year, and had beat UCONN the last 3 times! She canceled the series for a reason.....idk the exact reason because I'm not Pat or Geno.

Actually, I do.

You should try having facts.

It's a crock.

Lol! I don't care what you think. Those negative recruiting tactics are facts. I'm not crazy, I know you are a UConn fan and want to believe that these are all lies and stories made up. I don't gain nothing by making any of this up. To be honest, the only people that know exactly what happened during Maya Moore's recruitment was Tennessee's staff at the time, Maya Moore and her mother and Geno. Its mighty funny that Maya Moore or her mother have never demanded or wanted an apology. This is a forum to discuss things of the Tennessee Lady Vols. If everything is such a crock, why come here to read and post. I guess you are worried that your program may have actually cheated to get a recruit. Yes, UConn is on top now, but during that time UConn had missed some Final Fours and any coach who had a brain knew that if they sign Maya Moore they would cut down nets. So I don't want to here that crap that UConn would of still been contenders without Moore or UConn is this or that. UConn lost out on Parker and there was no way he was gone loose Moore to Tennessee. So believe what you want.

First you say: "Those negative recruiting tactics are facts."

Then you say: "the only people that know exactly what happened during Maya Moore's recruitment was Tennessee's staff at the time, Maya Moore and her mother and Geno"

First, if only those people know, how can you know them to be facts? Second, how do Pat and the Tenn staff know what occurred between the Moore's and the UConn staff. Or for that matter how UConn knew what was said between the Moore's and the Tenn staff? Did they have cameras in each other's offices?

The whole problem with the Tenn/UConn feud is that there are no facts, just accusations and innuendos.

Boneyard sending over people to throw up some **** until it sticks. It's sad they feel the need to continually come over here for some sort of validation.

If she doesn't make a Final Four while DeShields is in Knoxville, she'll be gone. Even the blue hairs will want a change at that point.

Long time lurker here, but this is really true. We are so stacked right now. It's time to show that these awesome recruiting years plus DD will pay off with FFs.

I'm so excited about 2015-2016!

This thread was started by a LV fan.

I read this board to keep up on Tenn, not to argue about CT/Tenn. But when it's brought up I'm going to comment.

It's a foreign exchange program. We have our own cadre of LV fans infiltrating the boneyard on a daily basis.

The whole problem with the Tenn/UConn feud is that there are no facts, just accusations and innuendos.

First of all, we were discussing two different arguments. I was not referring to UConn about the negative recruiting tactics against Tennessee. Those are facts that opposing staffs have said negative things regarding Tennessee that has nothing to do with basketball to try and steer recruits away.

Secondly it is true that we as fans can go back and forth about what we believe happened during Maya Moore's recruitment, but only the parties involve know EXACTLY what happened. I just don't believe all this was just made up about Maya Moore. I don't feel like getting into how this got back to the staff at the time and how people were talking in Gwinnett County, Georgia, who have resided there for years and who I doubt even roots for Tennessee. We as fans may never know the EXACT truth, but I do believe something went down. That's my opinion and you have yours. If someone told lies or made false accusations about me and I was a big name in sports, I would address it. Maya Moore or her mother has said nothing. Lol! I wonder why Candace Parker got benched when Katherine Moore flew in to the Olympics to watch her daughter play? Yet who came off the bench and took over the game and the US won. Don't be deceived, there are some long time UConn and Tennessee fans, have been following their respected programs when the rilvary first started that are actually friends and they talk. Now you can go report back to The Boneyard.

^This. Personally I have no desire to troll the Boneyard. I interpret the presence of Connecticut fans on this board as a sign of either discontent, dissatisfaction, antagonism, or insecurity. There must be unrest up at the Pound.

Sure you do. If there are any going there, I'm not sure of the purpose of their actual fanship.

Hey I peak in on the boneyard every once in a while and I must say we have a pretty solid squad representing for over there. They stay true to Tenn, I must say. If they're any here that post over there....keep up the good fight! #FistPump

Well, let's find out what their purpose is. Let's ask them.
To all the LV fans who go on the boneyard, why do you visit/post there ? Inquiring minds want to know.

I wonder if Geno will want to play Tennessee when Tyler is our head coach? It's no secret UConn's General doesn't get along with many female head coaches. The dynamic of having a male head coach here at Tennessee, a protege of the woman who built the women's game no less, will be interesting.

Also, what top player will turn down the possibility of playing for Pat's son in front of the most passionate fan base in the game.

Don't get me wrong, I love Holly, but she's been in coaching for more than 30 years and will retire before Tyler is 30. God willing, Tyler could end up coaching here longer than his mother.

Go Lady Vols!

Interesting Thread......

Of all the accusations I've read about, the one that has the most question marks attached to it, is how the Moore's went from living in low income housing in Georgia, to suddenly live in a gated community in Connecticut. All by selling hand bags.... That seems to be indefensible.

Thread was started because thought Hyams was referring to a RECENT event, ie since FF timeframe. Was not asking for input from uconn trolls. So if you don't want to argue, leave. And if you don't come on, you won't have to worry about commenting.

Sly, your comments are spot on...as usual.

Have gone there rarely. Really nothing of interest. The one time I tried to post, they never put it up...think it is very tightly controlled. I would have said my post rated between innocuous to mildly complimentary (regarding a thread they had up about our CP). However, it was clear I was a LV fan so I figured they only wanted uconn people or just enough fans of other sites to look "inclusive" while really not being so. JMO.

Yeah, but their defense to that is "How do you know Katherine Moore's income?" You basically have to be close to or under the poverty line to qualify for Section 8 or low income housing. I know this because I majored in Social Work in college. There are strict guidelines to get into low income housing. Some counties even request bank statements. Like I said people talk and there were chatter in that part of Georgia at that time. Most people that live in Georgia root for UGA or GT. So, I don't want to hear it was Tennessee fans doing the talking because it was not. These people had nothing to gain!

Gated community suggests affluence. I've seen pictures that are allegedly of this development and the units are rentals and far from what would be considered opulent. And I've read a lot of posts alleging that Mrs. Moore was some sort of welfare case and incapable of improving herself. Where is the evidence of this? Has anyone had access to her financial information? And why is it so impossible for a woman to raise herself up on her own? Maya either learned or inherited her drive and character from someone.

These are the sorts of leaps of logic that bother me about all the allegations coming from the Tenn side. It's all speculation based on assumptions. How could she do it? Maybe by working hard and persevering?

In any case, instead of tar and feathering Mrs. Moore all these years why don't those who think it's shady take their evidence to the NCAA? Oh yeah, the NCAA is in Geno's back pocket, right? Just like ESPN and USA basketball.

Where should I mail the roll of tinfoil?

Can you fill us in on how you know that Moore lived in a gated community in CT? Which community was it?
