Hong Kong + the West vs. China vs. Corporations

There were always ticky-tack fouls. Did you watch those highlights I posted? You'll see them. That hasn't changed since I've been watching. What's changed is they're harsher on flagrant/intentional.

Dude I watched Bird come across the lane and damn near get decapitated by Lambeir, Thomas get his nose busted by Malone and neither one flopped looking for a foul.

The beauty/tragedy of America is that you can sue anyone for anything at any time.
That is true. Frivolous, no chance of winning, hoping to win the judgment lottery, or free speech, makes no difference to the "system".

I loved the physical defense and the fact that you had to be a man to go into the paint back then. To each their own but I liked the NBA when it was a contact sport.
Now it's just a 3 point contest. I hate all the reviews to see if someone get their feelings hurt. Clear path foul etc. They are big strong guys who are crazy athletes but they are soft

Flopping is a thing now, yes. I agree it's distasteful but it's like 1% of the game. Those ^ examples are not basketball, and were like 0.000001% and they still happen sometimes. If you want to see people hit each other on purpose, watch MMA. Laimbeer got ejected (so did Bird) and Malone was suspended/fined, just like somebody today would be. That hasn't changed.

Kerr has made it clear he hates Trump more than most on this board!
Kerr is a little weasel without any principals. He knows his players are likely 99% libs and he coaches in the most radical area in the country so he knows he has to pander. Shut up and dribble, or in his case shut up and coach

If a 200lb guard brushes LeBron he flops around and squirms like he's been shot.

Lebron is a flopper but has also made a career of finishing and-1's on intentional fouls. The dude is a beast and the 90's don't want none. Who in the 90's is guarding him besides Pip? He's got Malone's size and Jordan's athleticism.

Maybe you should shut up and quit having opinions on an online forum and scrub toilets as well.

That's easy, he would come in the lane and Ewing, Mourning, Oakley, Mason etc.... would lay his ass out and he wouldn't come back. He's a fake tough guy in a league with no bigs and no one that came match up with him physically

Basketball is a contact sport, eliminating the contact in favor of 3 pointers and finesse has made it less interesting to me. You may love it and that is fine, I don’t.

Yeah, because Ewing and Mourning were so well known for being enforcers. There are plenty of bigs today that are bigger than Mason and Oakley. Hell, Lebron is bigger than both of them. Those guys were enforcers because they weren't skilled. Mourning and Ewing were skilled, which is why they didn't take cheap shots. We have both of those types today.

Bigger yes, but also soft as a marshmallow. Hell John Starks would f LeBron up.

What about the 3 on 3 game they're bringing to the Olympics?

Basically he does the same thing (refusing to criticize) that he accuses them of doing.

You'll say anything. Lebron manipulates the refs with flopping and you're confusing that tactic with softness. He gets fouled hard all the time, he's strong enough to finish through the fouls, and he doesn't get hurt. He has missed very little basketball in 16 years. Dude has played an incredible amount of minutes (already 8,000 more than MJ and he's only 34). You don't watch so you don't know.

If watched enough. Fouled hard today and fouled hard in 1990 aren’t the same. LeBron can’t handle getting slapped on the hand from a guard the size of Jordan Bone, he would have missed 6 weeks if he ever had to mix it up with the likes of Rodman

The problem with making **** up about guys in today's NBA is it's so easy to google stuff and refute you.

"How many times have we seen that this season?!" says the announcer:

This is getting crazy. As things escalate between Hong Kong and China, public relations are becoming a nightmare for corporations that want access to Chinese markets. Here is a primer to catch you up:

Last week South Park destroyed Chinese censorship in an episode called Band in China, and they've been subsequently banned in China (can't believe this didn't already happen).

This past weekend, Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey tweeted "Fight for freedom, stand with Hong Kong." which resulted in all hell breaking loose in China. Basketball is the most popular sport there and the NBA is huge, but they're now canceling TV contracts etc. Since then, the Rockets (China's unofficial team), including Morey, have been expressing love and admiration for China and offering every kind of apology they can come up with.

The NBA front office initially took a position on the fence but ultimately endorsed free speech.

Now we have Blizzard, a CA based video game producer banning an e-sports pro from Hong Kong and taking away his prize money after supporting Hong Kong protesters. They've also ended a relationship with Taiwanese streamers who interviewed him.

Blizzard Entertainment Bans Esports Player After Pro-Hong Kong Comments

The Rockets are cowards. I'm pleasantly surprised by the NBA, considering how much they stand to lose. Blizzard can go **** themselves and die a horrible death. And of course, as always, South Park is the most punk rock.

Welcome to globalization. Honestly. Most companies would gladly fall under communist rule if they made more money. This is what happens when you have a government and an educational system that craps on your own country

What does the education system have to do with corporations chasing higher profits?
