Hopson sucks except when we play a directional school in December. He will be here the next two years and play in Germany after that

has scotty ever been on the floor after a loose ball? how many times have you seen scotty and another player jawing back and forth and then he drives the lane and dunks on everybody? the ability is there, the " want to " is in question.

@ least twice in the last month of the season he had momentum changing baseline drive/dunks. One on Ostate, and one in UK @ TBA.

Come on, man. I'm sure Hopson's a good kid, but he simply has been a big disappointment; there's no getting around it. He shows flashes here and there but rarely comes through when you need him to.

His not contesting that shot against Summers is something that I think is just unforgivable, and I certainly won't forget it for a long time.

Man all these haters, I understand people are just expressing their opinions, but the kid is a very solid basketball player. He led the team in scoring, hit a big game winning shot against FL, had monster dunks against KU and OState. Pearl said time and time again that his defense was vastly underrated and a lot of times he was put on the opposing team's best player, though I do agree with LawVol that not contesting Summers' shot in an elite 8 game with a tie score at crunch time is completely inexcusable.

I guess I don't understand why some people on here rip him to shreds so much. I agree with the fact that he is not living up to the potential or the hype he had coming in, yet, but he's still contributed significantly to this program and that needs to be recognized whether you like his style of play or not.

Hopson is and will continue to be a solid contributor on the UT basketball team. He may not have lived up to the some of the expectations of the self proclaimed know it all "VN Elite," but he is a pretty good player, and will continue to get better.

Yea, it's completely unreasonable to expect more than 8 pts down the most crucial stretch of the season from Hopson. It's not like he was a McDonald's All-American and the 5th best player in the country coming out of high school.

Hopson is the one who essentially stated he would be a one and done before signing with us. It's not accurate to act like he was just an average recruit that fans unfairly hyped up.

Wonder if he'll say the same thing if Harris comes in and is about the 4th or 5th best player on the team down the stretch during his sophomore season?

I'd definitely agree with that. I still think he can turn it around, but he needs a huge attitude change.

maybe having to take charge of a large talented freshman class will motivate him to be more accountable. If he's put into a role to lead based on his experience with the program it could force him to push himself.

Or Selby's attitude could combine with Hopson's attitude and the stadium could implode. I guess we'll see.

I'm thinking Williams is going to be the leader on next year's team. I would love to see Hopson step up though.
