How much better is UGA?

SBIV won't win the Heisman, for sure. Willing to bet Tim Banks and Willie Martinez think differently than you.
Agree, Bennett won't win the Heisman. As I said he is solid, but no more. Young is stellar. So is H². Banks and Martinez certainly know that Bennett is no Bryce Young, but will still be meticulously prepared for him. GA is going to be tough to beat, but they aren't Alabama tough.

Statistically, through seven games, UGA is better this year, offensively and defensively.

Not sure where that info is coming from or how old it is, but it is most definitely wrong. Through the first 7 games last year, UGA had given up 46 total points. This year, they've given up 64.

Not sure about the offense numbers, but it shouldn't be surprising given you haven't played anyone with a defensive ranking higher than 53rd.

I bet they don't. Bennett is white bread. Game manager like the countless UGA QBs he's followed not named Stafford. Mizzu exposed that extremely well. And then he struggles the next week vs Kent State, who is ranked like 108 nationally in scoring defense.

That graphic is misleading if it is comparing the whole of 2021 vs the first 7 games of 2022. In the first 7 games of 2021 vs a much tougher schedule than you've faced in 2022, Georgia only gave up 46 points, vs the 64 you've given up this year. Last year in the first 7 games you played 4 ranked teams. This year, one ranked team and that was in the opener, in Atlanta vs a team breaking in a terrible Bo Nix at QB, who is only still ranked because their schedule has been a complete joke since they played you. There's a reason your schedule is ranked in the 70s right now.

I knew that looked wrong. Thanks for pointing that out.

Folks that have tried man coverage have still found that CJH can stunt to still get the matchup he wants. I'll be honest, I've watched replays on YT (Thanks, @Freak ) and I'm still not entirely sure what the 'system' is, but I have seen many examples where the CB was clearly lined up on a specific WR, and through a couple of crosses finds himself on the TE or RB and the WR either running free or with a LB or Safety trying to catch up. In nearly every game, Tennessee has receivers running wide open, including uga last season. The difference being that Hooker is a helluva lot more decisive and accurate this year. I see another barnburner in Athens, and frankly I have no real inclination who will win the game. I think both teams will score a lot.

Man coverage won't matter a bit. Our offense is entirely predicated on finding the mismatches and not letting opponents rotate in personnel for specific packages. Let them run man coverage all night. Hooker will find the open man.

I believe the comparison is the first seven games of 2022 vs the 2021 season.

I think Bennett is faster and more mobile than most folks give him credit for. He is however not in the same league in that regard as Young who is unbelievable with being able to extend plays with his legs while still looking to pass

Bama TE killed us and UGA is much better at that spot.

At this point I feel like we can beat anyone if we win the turnover margin.

If we play our A game we can beat anyone, if not we could lose 2 or 3 more games, Ky, Sc and Ga, but only if we don't play our A game

So an UGA fan who picked UT to lose to Bama said so? That's cute.

Bama was the SEC's statistical leader in D coming into Saturday. They allowed a high of 377 yds to Arkansas and avg'd allowing 251 ypg. They had not seen an O anywhere close to UT's.

UGA currently allows 247 ypg. Their season high is 313 to Oregon. They have played weaker O's than Bama. No one on their schedule is as talented or good as Texas or A&M.... and probably not Arkansas. They have not seen an O anywhere close to as good as UT's.

One of the youtube guys was talking about something prior to the Bama game. He said something like you had to have an opponent that showed you the limitations of a unit. He said that Bama had not faced an O that could show how good they were and that UT had not faced a D that could show where their upper limit was. UT STILL has not faced a D that shows where the upper limit for this O is.

I honestly felt we would struggle against Bama’s D a lot more than we did. I remember looking at SEC D numbers a week or two ago and they were clearly at the top in terms of yards and points. I knew our offense was legit but felt that even after facing LSU and Florida that they would be challenged like they hadn’t been yet. Glad to learn that I was wrong.

Why would we listen to a Georgia fan about ANY team beating Georgia?

Underrated post. Simple truth there. Apart from a few outliers, uga fans never give any other team any credit. Completely uga centric universe for them.

Trash program.

That will be the million dollar question. If they bottle us up , we're done. Our run defense has been far more stable this year. Georgia has regressed a little .

Rushing yards allowed per game

2021

Georgia Tennessee

79.6 158

2022

Georgia Tennessee

94.2 93.5

Opponents to this point 2022

Georgia Tennessee

Oregon Ball State
Samford Pittsburgh
South Carolina Akron
Kent State Florida
Missouri LSU
Auburn Alabama
Vanderbilt

Your matchups are somewhat even against ours as a whole. I don't care about rankings. That stuff doesn't mean much early in the season. I'd put my $ on Alabama vs Oregon , but USCe is a bit stronger than our other wins I think right now. Our rushing offense and defense vs UGA is a wash . Your passing offense is close to ours , while your passing defense is in another ballpark compared . On paper , UGA should win this . If you have a bong resin headed safety or cb that Saturday, you're probably going down. Fran Brown and Muschump are either going to be the heroes or the goats , and not the good kind of goat.
Georgia has so much more depth plus key players are returning

It’s not up to Any program to give Any team credit, Championships aren’t won on credit , gotta earn it

Lol
you say “see last years game”

However you know This isn’t last years Tennessee………so what does that have to do with ANYTHING.

You know last year Georgia didn’t struggle with Missouri………..should this mean something?

Before Bama played Tennessee they were giving up less than 13 points per game about 5th……..yet Tennessee scored over 50.

At that same time Georgia’s D was slightly better at just less than 11 points per….and somehow they will STOP Tennessee?

OK Georgia stops Tennessee because they did last year………gotcha.
Tn is 120th in D, Tn won’t be scoring too much . Ga will be scoring more than enough .

That's why we don't crown a national champion after 6 games. Stats go out the window in rivalry games , and UT isn't last year's UT . UGA certainly has the Joe's to prove you right . We have a Kentucky team to deal with first though. If we stink it up and they expose us, it'll be a good indicator that you'll be back to gloat after our game . If we torch their defense and win big , you can run out and buy a box of Depends. You'll be needing them.

Yes, Alabama is still ranked 12th nationally in scoring defense at 16.62 ppg. If you take out the outlier 52 points that they surrendered to our offense, they would be third at 11.5 ppg (NCAA College Football FBS current team Stats | NCAA.com). We essentially made the vaunted Crimson Tide defense look no better than any other defense we have faced thus far.
