After a win that many people were calling for upsets and "its gonna be a close one" you better believe I am...at least for the evening. We can't even go an hour anymore without someone Griping about A WIN...

I saw it from Y8 through the glaring sun!!! Honestly, as others have said, Coach Jones inspires confidence from the sidelines, I love that!! Last year when one things went wrong you just felt like everything was going to collapse..

One of my good friends is a south Carolina fan and he was giving our staff madd props. He even went on to say we get one upset this year. Either way people see the potential of this staff they will get it done

I'm loving every aspect of the Butch Jones era except the QB play.

Worley is God awful. Sorry Worley lovers. He has zero arm strength and isn't accurate. Double whammy of poo.

I've loved the vols for as long as I can remember but I'm not sold on butch until he wins some sec games. Dooley won the heck out of some non con games but we hate him. I guess I'm in the wrong thread because you guys fall in love too easily like a middle school girl

For me, Palardy's performance convinced me Jones is the guy. He's been lackluster from day one when his potential was through the roof.

He led his unit today, and put points on the board. That's on Jones, imo. So I'm convinced. Not asking anybody else to be.

I can agree with this, but he's probably our best bet at this point. Furgie and Dobbs just don't have the size and peterman....no. We just need to play to his strengths like we did in the second half.

We are in trouble against the big dogs if we trot Worley out at QB. Just sayin'.

OP on another thread got killed for this, but screw it: Burn up some eligibility and cross our fingers with Dobbs. What do we have to lose at this point?

Agreed. We have too many people going goo goo ga ga over two non-conference wins. People thought Derek Dooley was the second coming of Vince after we beat UT-Martin. I like Butch and I'm glad he's here. However, are we gonna win 3 national championships over the next 7 years?

The bolded above was only true toward the end of Dooley's tenure. He got a lot of passes from people on VN during his first two years as head coach.

I agree that the play call was not wise. We needed to run out the clock...if we were going with a pass, we should have been looking at higher percentage options. It should be a learning experience for the staff.

But there are far more positives to take away from this game than negatives.

Worley hasn't really had a chance, he has played 6 quarters and they really haven't had to show anything. Bottom line is they will be around 6-6 this year and Butch is awesome! Everything he does from the united march onto the field to the running between quarters. I love what he is doing in K-town, no more Cali-boys and no lawyers need apply. Keep our recruits and look out in the years to come.

OK, since you're bothered, I posted a week or so ago Jones hadn't shown me anything to give me confidence. Today, he did. But feel free to keep reading whatever you want to into it. It's a free board. :)
