I am 100% convinced Butch Jones will bring us back

We have too many people going goo goo ga ga over two non-conference wins.

Two non-conference wins beats the heck out of sitting and wondering how in the world (insert no-name team here) managed to play us so close or even beat us. The last few years' opening games have not been all that stellar. It is nice to actually win big against teams you're SUPPOSED to win big against. Just my opinion, of course. I've had a little too much Orange Kool-Aid today. :)

OK, since you're bothered, I posted a week or so ago Jones hadn't shown me anything to give me confidence. Today, he did. But feel free to keep reading whatever you want to into it. It's a free board. :)

How did this game take you from no confidence to 100%

I've loved the vols for as long as I can remember but I'm not sold on butch until he wins some sec games. Dooley won the heck out of some non con games but we hate him. I guess I'm in the wrong thread because you guys fall in love too easily like a middle school girl

Volly mentioned Palardy,, I see several players that have been 'coached up' from last year.. I haven't gone goo goo ga ga over anyone,,, but I see a big difference from last year. I have confidence that every mistake that was made in todays game will be dealt with b/f next Saturday..

Remember now, how many people were drinking the Dool-Aid after we beat Cincinnati 45-23? All I heard was "we're back!" I've seen us beat two teams we should beat. However, I do like what I see in terms of discipline. But does that mean we'll be competing with the upper echelon in the SEC? Let's wait and see if we can sniff the SEC title game in 3 or 4 years and not get curb stomped by Florida, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, and South Carolina.

Volly said she's 100% sure Butch will bring us back. I'd say I'm at about 50%.

Has anybody talked about what happened at the end of the half. If Dooley would have made that mistake he would have been cricified. But I guess we are supposed to be drinking the butch juice for the next couple years.

You should change your name to "Dooley Defense Force."

I see some stark differences to last year:

1- We have more discipline. A lack of discipline has cost us some games over the past few years. But I also think the discipline shows that the players are sold on the system and working together.

2 - Field Leadership - can't you just see players stepping up and supporting each other? That aspect has been missing from our team for many years.

3 - Proactive Staff - I can't quantify this, but it seems that this staff goes after problems (I think evidence may be in point 1) proactively rather than talk about what happened to them after the game (like Dooley)

This is a team that is weak in many positions and will have a long uphill climb this season, but I do think it is very much different from last year's team.

Good grief dude, do you really not comprehend or are you just trying to argue? I said he hadn't shown me yet...as in I hadn't seen it on the field, in a game, for myself, yet. I love everything about the guy and the way he does things. I'm a fan of the guy. But today I felt convinced he was THE RIGHT GUY after I saw Palardy. I don't know why Palardy's performance made me feel that way, it just did. I don't know how else to explain it to you.

Thus far, it seems that Palardy has shed some of his mental issues when lining up for kicks.

Palardy, along with most of the rest of the squad, are walking with more confidence, and I believe that subtle clue is what a lot of fans are subconsciously picking up on.

That comes from the top.

It's going to be 3-5 years to get competitive in the East. There's no reason to get down on things now. They've won all tue games they've played. So far so good.

I loved how the team responded after good plays. They acted as excited for the player as they would have had they made the plays themselves.

al golden is gonna keep all that miami/dade talent home , look out 'noles and gators. :cray:
How did they avoid the NCAA sanctions? It was very clear that players received lots of extra benefits. Two sets of rules it seems. I am really POed that TOS ended up much better by cheating and it has no affect on Miami.

Maybe next week the long snapper will show you something that could bring it put 200%

Have they already ruled on Miami? I thought they were still waiting on the Shapiro thing?
