I am 100% convinced Butch Jones will bring us back

a win against wku gets a thread like this...omg next a thread about firing him after ducks torch us..lol

Normalfootballfan is a troll-or at least is behaving as one right now...

EVERY TEAM IN FOOTBALL PERIOD has things to improve on....our beloved vols included...negative attitudes and fake fans like yourself prove that point even more. You are more than likely that guy that has said we suck every single year in recent memory-all the way back to the Peyton days!!!

I choose to see the positive-the great things our coach has helped our VFL players to achieve, regardless of the competition so far as opposed to selling them short just 2 games into the season. You have to remember that it is the inches that make up this game-and while our team may or may not win the game of inches in the next few weeks-you can be damn sure that we will give our all!! GBO

This is all fine and dandy, but we still play 5 preseason top-10 teams in 6 games.

We are going through the gauntlet with a team in a new offense, a new defense, and very little starting experience among our offensive skill players.

Giving a realistic opinion on our final record is not tearing down your favorite team.

2 penalties and 2 turnovers in 2 games = great coaching

Great recruiting + great coaching = contending for titles!

Go Vols!

Has anybody talked about what happened at the end of the half. If Dooley would have made that mistake he would have been cricified. But I guess we are supposed to be drinking the butch juice for the next couple years.

I never trust a man who supposed he should drink another man's juice for years.

In the three years Dooley was here I didn't see a single thing about the team that made me think "That is because of good coaching." In the two games Butch has coached I have seen half time adjustments, the offensive line not move on an off sides from the defense, improvement from Palardy, and very few penalties. All these things I attribute to good coaching. He is also putting together a heck of a recruiting class for 2014. I am not anointing Butch quite yet, but I am seeing good things.

I'll tell u when I knew Butch was THE GUY. When his lil boys all stepped up and introduced themselves as young men should. How often does that happen these days?!?! In addition the way he answered the "you were 4th choice" comments, with his wife had many choices in front of him! No.political dodge the question nonsense, he took it like a man and that reflects on his players. He is a molder and leader of men and that is what UT has been missing and its direct reflection is in the recruiting results! GO VOLS the future is BRIGHT

I had no idea that was a saying.

I always thought you simply can't have Citrus without Florida Orange?

Dooleys team would have collapsed after that mistake and given up 21 unanswered points ...therein lies the difference. drink the juice , enjoy the improvement , and be excited about a top 10 recruiting class.

If I recall correctly, North didn't high point the ball on what otherwise was a great throw. Instead of a big gain/TD, a true freshman cost us the series (not downing North.. He'll be a big time guy). A missed blocking assignment by the special teams unit, and things shifted a little.

How did they adjust? Long, quick drive down for 6 on the next full possession. I think that mistake by a freshman and special teams player we're handled well by Butch and the rest of the team.

So thankful for CBJ. Kiffin just lost to Washington State. Glad our coach doesn't suck like USC West's does.

I couldn't care less about Dooley but I think it's funny how we fall in love with the next dude wearing orange pants. And does anyone want to talk about the terrible decision to throw it at the end if the half when we were obviously runnin the clock out. Coaching literally gave them a touchdown.

Blame that one on Coach Jake then. But, anyhow, I like how last year, as one mentioned, I imagine that momentum swing may have either toppled us, or made the game very tight down the stretch. I like how we steadied the nerves, kept plugging away at the gameplan, stayed mentally tough, and just got back to executions, thereby stomping on their jugular to pull away, and not let the crap that happened at the end of the 1st half, which admittedly had me pretty concerned (due to memories of how that may affect us in years past), lead to our downfall.

Our vols are finally playing with a purpose we still got a long ways to go but it feels good to watch our players playing hard unlike the last couple of years. where players was giving up half way through the game. Butch jones is putting fire back in to the program

No, you are right to a degree. However, I look at it this way. First, if we ran it and failed to get the first down, WKU takes a timeout and we still punt, which was blocked. The blocked punt amplifies either decision. Second, Worley stunk worse in the first half than a dump you take up against a tree while hunting (WKU's QB had more completions to Vols in the first half than Worley). Thus, what better way to see of what your QB is made than in that situation at home while up 21 against a team that has given you the ball 5 times already and with less than a minute left in the half. We MUST get better play from out QB the next two weeks or we are going to get embarrased at Eugene and at Gainesville. Third, did anyone think we were going to pass? I didn't. I was shocked. That could of been why the decision was made, i.e., everyone is geared towards run...lets make an easy pass, get the first down, and get in the locker room.

Needless to say, bUTch gets it.

You got me rollin man! Btw kiffins doin his best to lose to washington state right now. This night is coming together nicely.

1. Vols pull out big win against tough opponent.
2. Florida slapped down.
3. Notre Dame slapped down.
4. Ducks steamroll Virginia.
5. Now this gem of USC losing to Wazzuwho .
6. Fake UT going down to nerd school.
7. Cocky getting c**kslapped.
I'm sure there's at least one more I haven't even heard about. I just boomed in my shorts.

That's funny!

What's sad is that UT took that as an insult. UT fans would give anything to go to the Citrus Bowl now.

I fondly remember being there as Bill Duff stuck Eddie George's face in the mud on 01 Jan 1996...I still rub that into the face of Worthless Nut fans down here...:shaking2:
