I have a question for some of the Political forum regulars....

so i guess none of your tithing went to the building of that spectacular building? because clearly spreading the gospel couldn't have been done for half the building cost price?

Why can't Christians still meet in caves? Much lower overhead that way.

The state churches are very corrupt, which is why I don't like Catholic principles, and believe they go against what is taught in the Bible.

if jesus wanted that building to worship him than he was a materialist dbag.

Follow the money trail. Cash corrupts. Protestant, Catholic, Muslim, Kiss, GNR...it makes no difference.

Well, take that up with God, not me.

No can do. I can only take up issues with a tangible, living, breathing being.

So, tell me this... if Islam is so bad because it destroys those who do not convert, why is Christianity so good when those who reject its teachings get the sweet mercy of putting up with existing in this world for ~75 years just so they can die and wallow in a pit of sulfur for all eternity.

Dying straightaway... burning in sulfur after you die... dying straightaway.... burning in sulfur after you die.

Tough choice there.

If you ask me, God and all His omniscience should be able to recognize good people from bad people. He's basically asking everyone to kneel before him or burn in hell. That doesn't sound much more merciful than a pissed off Muslim with an AK-47 pointed at you saying "Convert or die!"

somehow without christianity i've been able to figure out how to live a moral life. hard to imagine.

and you know exactly when a church turns from one that is grounded in christian teachings and one that isn't? does your church have a sound system? flat screen tvs? cherry wood pews? what type of car does your minister drive? how big of a house? does he get a pension when he retires? how mcuch?

I believe my church is grounded in a good sound Christian Doctrine, if not I would be looking for another church.

My church does not have a sound system.

My church has no tvs of any type.

We have solid oak pews, very nice.

He drives a Ford F-150 that he paid for... He works for a living.

Never saw pastors house, I know he has a small farm.

He should get a pension from his job, not his service to God.

How much pension does he get from his job, don't know, it's none of my business

So, did you actually go over the website and see what all we do, or did you just see the picture of the church building itself and not move past that??

In one week's time (Aug. 2-8), we had 5,711 people worship with us, on this campus alone. So, our accommodations match the amount of people we have. We have 3 services on Sundays as well.

Now, I will say, I think this is a perversion of the central tenants of Islam, and it represents a radical fringe. But I still don't think it is equivalent in the least to fanatical Christians.

i saw the website. not sure what was on it that would prove it's not one of the wasteful ones. i hardly see how those 5,711 people needed such such a nice buidling to worship. my catholic high school auditorium (you know that religion you claim wastes money) could have fit that many and i guarantee you it cost 1/3 of that facility.

i'm at work and can't watch this with sound. so tell me, are they brain washing kids to kill?

She is training an "Army of God." She spoke of how Harry Potter is a warlock and would have been rightfully killed in the Old Testament. I may be wrong, but with her context and tone, she made it sound like the OT was right in that respect.

i don't neccasarily disagree that the koran is more violent inherently and that isn't a small part of the problem. i just don't agree violence is a core part of the religion.

You could have built a warehouse that would hold the same, if not more, amount of people, with a bunch of AC units for a fraction of the cost. Then you could spend more money on helping the homeless and blowing money on mission trips.

It's a simple argument some of you are making. "Both religions have their radical fringe". Which is true. But it doesn't mean that one isn't worse than the other.

I've read it a couple of times. It most certainly isn't. Both he Bible and the Koran are filled with warfare, executions, and violence. The Quran contains more intolerance, but God's wrath is much more prevalent in the Bible.

So Muhammed's actions and the references to command killing and beheading are just fairy tales and mindless digressions? And have nothing to do with the core?
