I'm not worried about Clemson. They got destroyed by Notre Dame. They're out. I think Oregon will beat USC.Oregon needs to beat USC in their title game, UNC needs to beat Clemson, and TCU needs a loss somewhere along the way to remove all doubt.
Strength of schedule should be considered over a 1 loss conference champ getting in but I doubt that happens.
I dont think a single one of those other teams mentioned plays the Vols schedule and gets through it with one loss.
JMHO

Honestly I think Ohio State is usually overrated too.I agree.
Clemson hasn't been impressive at all this season and that ND loss was pitiful.
Haven't watched much USC this year but I see that game as a bit of a toss up.
Agree the SOS should be the deciding factor.
Hope the results fall into the Vols favor that there isn't any room for doubt though.
Didn't mention OSU and Michigan earlier but I think OSU destroys them. Michigan is perpetually overrated and gets by on a lousy schedule.
You think a team that got boat raced by a 3 loss Notre Dame and plays in a cupcake conference (ACC) gets the nod over us? Good grief some of y’all are delusional! You will bend over backwards to tell yourself we don’t make it because of…what? Fear of disappointment? You enjoy being miserable? It’s ridiculous at this point. Clemson?! Seriously?
Again, you're 100% ignoring the two factors that are stated heavyweights for the playoff selection committee. Whenever these questions come up, those two have been the big-time determinant of who gets in.There is a lot of football left to be played however it’s not that difficult to see how challenging the argument for Tennessee will be when you take your orange tinted lenses off. Tennessee has two major problems. 1) A front-loaded schedule with no wins against ranked opponents after a late season loss. Whipping up on Missouri, S.Carolina and Vandy isn’t very impressive when other teams are playing meaningful football games and winning conference championships.
2) Arguing why Tennessee’s resume is better than that of a one loss Power 5 conference champion is a losing battle. If USC, Clemson or UNC finish 12-1 with a conference championship on their resume; they will get in over Tennessee.
We already know that TCU is in if they win out.
Southern Cal is sitting around #7 currently with games against #16 UCLA, #18 Notre Dame and a PAC Championship Game. It’s a tall task, but if USC gets through those 3 games they are 100% in.
There is a high probability that the ACC Championship Game is a 1 loss Clemson vs 1 loss UNC… both would be top 10 teams… The winner will probably jump Tennessee.
What happens if LSU beats Georgia? Lol
It’s ignorant to act like Tennessee is a shoe-in.
I would know what....that losing is a good strategy? You would know. Since that’s exactly what happened last year. Of course most teams cannot rely on the team that destroyed you to lose their top 2 wide receivers allowing the team that got demolished in SEC championship to beat that team in the national championship. That probably isn’t a good strategy to bank on happening….

Go look at the SOR and SOS for the top 10 teams. Come back and make the ACC, PAC, or 2-loss LSU argument when you've got a little more research done. The "early season" "late season" stuff is media drivel and hasn't been considered that heavily for at least the last few years. Don't just eat up what you're shoveled.
I wouldn't be shocked if we get screwed, but putting some of those teams ahead of us as locks is just as bad as assuming Tennessee is a lock.Honestly, I’m just going to let it all play out. I hope Tennessee gets in but I don’t expect it. I expect this message board will be a toxic heap of garbage come selection day if Tennessee doesn’t get in.
I honestly think truthfully UGA got humbled in the SEC champ game. They went to work. Even if you are the best team and its obvious you still have to play. Injuries happen. That is football. UGA is the defending champ because they earned it. IF we really want it we are going to have to earn it just the same. There are no easy roads when the playoff starts. You have to go play.I would know what....that losing is a good strategy?
