I think we can get Bob Stoops

He's won the league 7 out of thirteen years. I would say that's pretty good. He's had a couple of "down" years but overall he's been spectacular. Ten double digit win seasons, and all the players that have gone pro, he would be a grand slam hire.

I personally do not see him as a grand slam hire. What he does works in the big 12, and I'm not so sure it would work here. Besides, after the 90's the big 12 has only squeezed a few of years out of Texas being good, and besides that he has not had to face 3-6 top level teams in conference like the SEC.

UT football will be the death of me. Bob Stoops, Willie Taggart, Charlie Strong, idc who the next coach is they can't be as incompetent as this guy on gameday or in preparation week in and week out. Period.

Grudens thread is 9,900 posts of people that don't know what they are talking about, so all they do is spout off bullcrap. The other posts are wishful thinking.

I was trying my best to avoid that thread but (foolishly) decided to check it out today. Really, really, really wierd group of people posting in there. It's like the same 4-5 guys making out for 10k post.

Another thread for dreamers.

Everyone might as well hang out in the silly Gruden thread, LOL!

By the way...The big 12 is far from the competition of the SEC.

VFL...GBO!!!

I think they go after mike gundy. He could be lured away from OK. St. More money, better tradition, best conference, better facilities and a larger fan base. It would be an opportunity for him to prove himself in the SEC and he would be the splash hire UT was looking for after you know who( he shall not be mentioned) left so abruptly. He also has had one of the best offense's in the country since he got there, although his defense's lack a little to be desired, but should be fixable with a little talent:)

Let's see, leave a perennial Big 12, or whatever it is now, powerhouse where Texas is typically your only real threat particularly with Nebraska's exit and you just hammered them in embarrassing fashioin to move to the at best consistently third or fourth program in the toughest conference outside the NFL with known grueling recruiting requirements to make up for lack of instate talent.

Wonder how much that would cost us????

I could see Stoops taking the UGA or Alabama or Florida or LSU job but I don't see him at Tennessee.

Now that makes more sense. Plus he's a man, he's 40 or 40 something now.

T. Boone Pickens negates most of what you posted.

How's that? because he has money. Ok I'll give you the money aspect, he could bank role Gundy. Everything else is by far in UT's favor. They didn't even become realvent again until he got there. The last time they were that good was when Barry Sanders was there(correct me if i'm wrong). I cant even name the last coach they had or the one they had when BS was there. If he's serious then he could be ours no matter what Pickens says. This all hypothetical by the way.:salute:

Have you seen their facilities? T.Boone just wrote them a check for 100 mill

No I haven't. but UT's playground isn't something to just throw off. Besides if your Gundy and this is the question posed to you. UT or OK St. what do you do and why? Money aside, because i think its basically even if UT wants a real coach.:)
