I think we can get Bob Stoops

actually surprised that Pete Carroll's name hasnt been thrown out there. He will probably get canned after this season. Dont think he would come to the Hill, but you never know.

Get fired? He has a winning record this year, and is 1 game out of the division lead. Dont know where this will probably get fired talk is coming from Rex.

Yes, Rex, where are you hearing this? There is zero chance Pete Carroll coaches at Tennessee next year. Zero.

And so are the people who are falling over at a coach who hasn't actively competed against another team in almost 4 years, or won an NFL playoff game since the Super Bowl Tampa Bay won. He makes more announcing, than we would have to hire a new coach.
you're insane.

Pete Carroll is not going anywhere.

Why are you so sure of this?

7-9
7-9
3-2(should be 2-3)

7-9 is pretty bad given the division he plays in. Not saying it's his fault, the Seahawks probably don't have a lot of talent. Just saying that between possibly having a losing record three seasons in a row or Pette Carroll missing winning(which came easily for him in college), I wouldn't say remaining in Seattle is set in stone.

So, you think I'm insane because I believe that we have better options, than a MNF commentator, who hasn't developed a game plan to play against anyone in 4 years??

To each his own.

I too would like a proven college coach but I'd be fine and dandy with Jon Gruden. How a coach that won a Super Bowl as a head coach in the NFL. Maybe I'm too optimistic in thinking this but if he shows up in a kids living room with a Super Bowl ring on his finger, he'll be reeling in Alabama type classes. I guess I also don't agree with you that not being a coach for 4 years would be that big of an issue. College is different from the NFL to begin with and look at Bill Snyder. He was out of football for like 4 years too. He was 10-3 last season and is 6-0 this season.

We could do far worse than Gruden. Our last two coaches for example.

Snyder retired, big difference.

do you even read what I post? go back and reread it.

Yes, I read it. You said, "...but you never know". Yes, I do know. It will not happen. Never. Maybe you should re-read your own post.

Now that you have some free time, go find someone else's thoughts to copy onto this website. Are you seriously incapable of independent thought?

Why would he? He is a god now in a weak conference that he can dominate and get title chances for a whole let less effort than he can here or anywhere else in the SEC.

Ego.

Might want to see what he can do in the strongest conference going against the best of the best.

Or he might prefer the easier gig and cashing those checks up until retirement.

Damn. This fanbase is downright embarrassing.

At some point you will have to descend back down to planet Earth.

Y'all's perception of our talent, financial situation, and prestige/attractiveness of UT is beyond skewed.

I'm not on the Gruden bandwagon either, but I think it's crazy how much your poo poo'ing it. The man won a super bowl, I don't care who's players he was using...that's better than any other coach in the SEC can claim. And the NFL is still the big dog league.

somebody get some shovels and lets go dig up some of the best parts of deceased great coaches.maybe we can build a better coach.ITS ALIVE!!!!

at this point, this is no more stupid than some of the suggestions that are being brought up.

Sounds great lets add in some Jim Morrison and take out the Jim Nabors.

He's been mentioned several times this season, and he's not doing too poorly.

That's the best you've got? That's the best insult you can come up with? Ironic post is ironic. See if you can conjure up an original insult.

Has Gruden EVER built up a college team?? I'm not saying he couldn't, I'm saying if we go down this road, and are disappointed, we will be in a world of hurt. Besides, we can't afford him, but that's just my opinion. You think Dooley's buyout was large....

I don't disagree on the money thing...half of the people on here think that just because you make money you want to give it away to UT. If Gruden was known for anything- it was his crazy ways with QB's, that worries me. I think that the first couple of years he'll be able to recruit on name alone...the rest will be based on winning and losing.

Getting Stoops from Oklahoma would arguably be a bigger splash than hiring Gruden. But, IMO, Stoops is the second-most unrealistic name that's been posted here as serious, behind only the current head coach of the 4-1 Chicago Bears.

Bob Stoops turned down Florida two years ago. He's not coming to Tennessee. You can call and ask. He's still not coming.
