"I Wish We Had A ________ Near Me"

We have a Perkins...and I wish there was more around...I didn't mention it because I got my ass kicked in the restaurant thread by the uppity food snobs :)

Oh stop! There was no ass whoopin'. Perkins was mostly known for being one of the very few 24 hour restaurants. It had average food, much like IHop. They were also known for their desserts. Peanut Butter Silk Pie was the best.

IHOP is not average, it's wonderful!

I might have tried that. Did they have chocolate ones?

Those fat chocolate muffins they sell at Sam's are always good.

Anyone ever had the Kensington Club steak from Steak&Ale?

Does Steak&Ale still exist?

That's it!

I will have too look them up again.

like I said, it was a few years back when I went and it was pretty damn authentic. My wife (a german) also thought it was the best she'd had here in the states. Its the only place I've ever heard Rocky Top polka style.

For me, not a jäger fan. Dont like mushrooms. I will eat the s__ out of some zigeuner though.

Someone said an ocean. I second that. Love Knoxville but I need my waves.

God, I hate to say this but...

Cracker Barrel.

When I lived near one and the kids wanted to go I'd make every excuse not to. Now the nearest one is hours away and sometimes I just get that hankerin'....

Bob Evans. Not a great place but a head and shoulders above the Perkins/Denny's/IHOP in that category.

Well, It would be nice to have any of the restaurants mentioned here closer to my farm. The nearest town is 12miles away. It is a small town and only has Hardees, Subway and a Sonic. We have to drive a 70 mile round trip into Oak Ridge if we want to eat anywhere other than that.

Be Safe,
