I would like to see what Pearl could do with this team....

No problem. BTW. I think the people that are screaming for Cuonzo to be fired aren't just basing it off the start to this season. They are using the previous 2 years as well.

Yeah and I get that, and I even think that's fair, but not until the season has played out.

My problem is it's apparent some here are never going to accept him period. They've already made up their minds.

The Pearl coming back thing is silly. That will never happen. People need to move on.

I think those rankings are to be taken with a grain of salt. They aren't tye end-all, be-all.
I've been badgered quite a few times when I said the ranking systems weren't all that great.
Now when it's convenient, You agree?

Actually what you posted is part of the problem; Pearl inherited a program with zero expectations, and Martin inherited a program in some turmoil because of what happened, plus much higher expectations.

So blindly comparing their first 3 years is unfair.

That was during his first year...any coach who replaces a legend is going to experience that. Now before some of you jump on that I know legends are those who endure at a school for many years...like CRM. However for a program like UT that has not experienced the national success other programs have what Bruce did puts him in a legendary status in our eyes. This is Martin's team now...so the "it was Pearl's team" arguement is about as lame as Obama still trying to blame former President Bush for all his current probs.

Spin it anyway you want.
The WSU loss was to inferior talent.
Check their roster. one rated 3*. Van Vleet
Or do rivals rankings suddenly mean nothing?

Funny you talk about spinning.

Does ranked #9 and #11 in both polls, 11-0, and coming off a Final Four year not mean anything? Plus it was at their place, a place many teams would struggle? Or does none of that matter?

Nothing you posted nullifies anything I posted, in fact it pretty much reinforces it. You're freaking out and calling for blood after 9 freakin' games. And if it's not about the Pearl infatuation, then why do so many follow the "FIRE MARTIN" with "BRING BRUCE BACK"?

Are you seriously saying the WSU loss is a bad loss?

We have been listening to some of you make the same excuses going towards the midway point of the third season with the same results. When you cry " give him time " over and over it has slowly become like the boy who cried wolf. I don't care if they bring in Pastner if he can average 25 wins a season. Winning cures all things in sports.

And for what it's worth, I count four 3* players; Early, Van Fleet, Wiggins, and the freshman this year.

I do agree though, on the surface (and probably deeper), we have more talent.

Oh you mean the same Pastner who gets 25 wins a season in CUSA and now the AAC? And can't beat ranked teams?

Ok so throw out the first year then, so now it's 2 years.

Oh wait, it's not 2 years because we're 9 games into year 3. So then fire him now over a season and a third?

I get the terms ranked and rated confused.
only one of their 3*s is ranked or rated. Fill in the right word.
Probably not you giving me lumps on my opinion of the system. You're usually pretty level headed.

Thanks.

In fact, I used Victor Oladipo (#144 in 2010), and Trey Burke (#142 in 2011) in a discussion yesterday about how sometimes the rating system is simply flawed. Both were top-10 picks in the 2013 draft. CJ McCollum wasn't rated at all and went top-10. Tim Hardaway Jr and Andre Robertson were both 3* guys and were both first-rounders.

Darius Thompson and AJ Davis seem, through nine games, to be playing above their respective rankings.

Thanks.

Kemba Walker could make your argument.

Thanks.

I got a better one for you...Paul George was a 3 star
