This is the first 30ish% of Martin's season and all you Pearl homers are throwing out facts that took Pearl YEARS to obtain. Yes Pearl won more than any of coach in UT history and that should be respected. NEWS FLASH: Pearl also put us in the situation we are in right now. He deserves the blame for us not having a real PG or C right now. He deserves the blame for not developing our 5th? year senior Cam tatum.

Martin also deserves some of the blame for our loses. Nobody should be saying he doesnt, but our currently reality is we are in rebuild mode. Good thing about basketball is 1 or 2 players can turn everything around.

Oh yeah Pearl will never coach at UT again. Do not know why anybody thinks otherwise.

Pearl's gone never to return. Tennessee basketball sucks. Will it ever return to its glory days like the ones under Bruce Pearl. Based on what we have seen so far with the current coach, I would say it is doubtful.

Give me a break, if we kept Pearl, the program would be set back at least about 10 years, to undo all the damage that would be done. And since you can't even be patient enough to give Martin more than a quarter of his first season, I find it EXTERMELY hard to believe that you'd be patient enough to go 10 years of horrible basketball just to keep Pearl.

The way things look right now it appears that with the current coaching situation the program has been set back at least 10 years. Let's hope that is not the case.

Instead of quoting people and telling them they are delusional or ill-informed, why don't you actually contribute something to the conversation of actual interest. Pretty understandable that given a 3-6 start for the season that fans who have vested themselves in the program over the Pearl era might be upset over the drop-off so far this year. I am going to support the team and watch every game this year, but even I would have to say it is hard to watch getting beat by 1-9 OVC team that got smoked by Arkansas.

The reason why we keep throwing these facts out is because ppl keep saying the same thing over and over again how bp let to coc And Oakland last year forgetting everything else he has done.....and ya it extremely sux we won't make tourney this year but believe it or not we orally still have a better team today than we would of had if pearl never came here

I am all for that. We better get him, before Memphis does. Pearl with Memphis talent would be scary not only for Tennessee, but the rest of the nation.

Didn't Wade Houston set Tennessee back about 10 years. Well, it is looking like this coach is doing the same.

Four years after Houston was fired, we started a run of four consecutive tournament bids. Don't really know what the pre-Houston standard was though, since I was in preschool when he was hired. Also, you seriously don't understand the concept of it being nine games in under a new coach who lost everything from a mediocre team

Pearl wont be coaching at Tennessee, Memphis, or any other major program again. At least not for a very long time.

And the lousy coaching (i.e. can't beat a 1-9 Austin Peay) is on Wade Houston Jr.

I wouldn't be so sure about Pearl not getting another job. I think that is wishful thinking for a lot of people who do not like Pearl. Lots of teams want a winner and Pearl is a winner. They will not be hung up on barbeques and such.

When Pearl lands somewhere that team will be a winner from day one just like he was here at Tennessee. Let's just hope it is not at Memphis or someone Tennessee plays each year, because that team will be beating the **** out of Tennessee.

I hope we see some improvement, but I am not optimistic.

Let me ask you something. Did Wade Houston ever win a conference championship? Did Wade Houston ever orchestrate a 15 game turnaround in two years? Did Wade Houston have anything in his resume that made you think he could improve a team?

Not that I am aware of. I guess Martin is setting himself up for a big turnaround for next season, because Tennessee is not going to win 10 games this year.

I know, I know it is Pearl's fault he can't coach.

From what i have seen so far Tennessee will not win 15 games in a season with Martin coaching.

I guess what is disappointing is Tennessee can score points, but cannot stop a high school team from scoring. To me, that is on the coach. Defense is about effort and coaching.

remember when we made the tourney every year and went deeper than ever under that jewish guy? that coach lost some regular season games he shouldn't have, therefore he and 'zo are on par with each other. lolololololololol.
