I say they go more in the direction of adding more program content. Ant league that has more games and more quality of teams will generate national interest from fans and networks. This "regional market" stuff is old school flawed logic. People in DC, St. Louis, and New York would rather watch a bunch of good quality games every Saturday than deal with having Maryland, Mizzou and Rutgers shoved down their throats...
FSU, OU, UNC, Duke and Miami all have national appeal. FSU, OU, Clemson and Miami are historically quality football programs. UNC and Duke add value in basketball. Any combination of these schools being added to the mix would help in program content. Do you really think UNC or Duke would be added to pick up the Raliegh/Charlotte markets or for their national bandwagon appeal?
Program content, people.
Counterpoint: Games with OU and Miami don't matter so much, as the games between the big teams are already getting a national following, and we already have them every week.
It's the SEC Network games where we can expand our presence. Right now, Raleigh and DC aren't watching them. If NC State or Virginia Tech are involved, Raleigh and DC are watching their local teams.
