if a&m joins who will join the east

Could shift Alabama and Auburn to SEC east. I think they would be next to shift, geographically anyway.

I was thinking the same thing, but the east would be STACKED at that point. At least we could be guaranteed to play Bama every year even if we keep adding teams to the conference.

what i believe will actually end up happening.....

scenario 1.

a&m and mizzou. don't ask me how they divide divisions.

scenario 2.

a&m to the west, va tech to the east.

scenario 3

a&m, oklahoma, oklahoma state and missouri. don't ask me how they divide divisions.

scenario 4

a&m, oklahoma, oklahoma state and va tech. don't ask me how they divide divisions.

Any talk that includes Oklahoma St, Georgia Tech or Clemson should be completely ignored. Any talk that includes FSU should be regarded with a great deal of scepticism.

So how are they gonna divide divisions?

Sorry...had to.

i only included okie state, because from what i have heard, that is a package deal.

you won't get oklahoma unless you take oklahoma state.

i don't know if that's true or not. i also don't know if it is true if that's a deal breaker for the SEC.

This will be the first time in my life, that I can remember, that teams have been added to the SEC. I'm against it purely on the principle that it'll be a change from what I perceive as the norm. I don't see a reason to add A&M, or any other school for that matter, except for more money.

Throughout its history the SEC played with 13 teams for 7 years, 12 teams for 32, 11 teams for 2, 10 teams for 26, and 12 again for 19. What you "perceive as the norm" is very different from the reality of our history.

I personally think we have enough football powers in the SEC - adding more could hurt everyone as going undefeated would be much less likely - adding Miami, BC, and VaTech to the ACC did not help the ACC - they have gotten less respect as a conference every year after that happened

I say go for a bball school that will help the conference get more credibility in the other major sport - u can't really get more football credibility than the SEC already has

maybe a school like Louisville - close geographically - be a good team for the good SEC teams to get a win against in football and add instant credibility to bball

I like the conference staying at 12 teams. If A&M joins, I say we should kick someone out. Kick LSU or Arky out and let them replace A&M in the Big 12 (10)...

UT needs to get a foothold into Texas for recruiting, so I wouldn't mind it.

This...already have all southern state markets covered..I say TexasAM and VT

I live in/near Raleigh. It is a big city. It is Southern. The SEC Network is not here, because there are no SEC teams.

We do not have all the southern state markets covered.

You're young...lol

Arkansas and South Carolina were added to the SEC in 1992, which means you must be under 19???

He didn't say he wasn't born when they were added.

I don't remember SEC expansion, and I'm six days from 24.

But I was 5 years old in 1992, I didn't know what was going on.

Yeah that's my point, the SEC hasnt been static in its history. Its just all I've known. Obviously the SEC will continue to be the best in the nation, but it'll take some getting used to thats all.

The FSU rumor has some legs down here.

The plan to have them and Miami lift the whole ACC blew up pretty badly. Instead, they both got a lot weaker.

If it ain't broke don't break it. The SEC is definitely not broke 5 titles in a row working on 6.
