If Georgia fires their coach, are you worried about Dooley leaving?

Dooley already hates the comparisons to his fathers coaching resume. He is always trying to get out of the shadow of his fathers ledgendary legacy and going to Georgia would just make it harder for himself to get away from those lofty expectations. Here he can be Derek Dooley and not be compared to Vince. He chose to walk on at UVA, instead of taking a scholarship playing under his dad at UGA, that says a lot if you ask me right there.

With Georgia's misfortunes and Tennessee doing great their first two games, how soon will ESPN start pushing the Dooley to Georgia rumors?

Jawja might very well look in his direction. At least some of them would.

But as others have said, Derek Dooley has spent his entire football career, both as a player and a coach, trying to carve out his own path and legacy in the game. He didn't play for Georgia, hasn't tried to coach there except for one year as a graduate assistant. And Georgia hasn't always treated Vince well since his retirement.

Seriously, there's not much of a reason to make a move like that, anyway. One might argue that you can win the national championship easier at UGA, but if that's so, why hasn't it happened that way? DD seems to have our program going back up, and here, he only has to face comparisons to Lane Kiffin, not with Vince Dooley.

Plus, they might not want him, anyway. I don't think it's going to happen, but we could play pretty good football and still be 3-5 by the end of October. (We could also be 6-2, nationally ranked and on the way to the East title, and Dooley would be negotiating an extension and raise.) Either way, he ain't going to Jawja.
