I'm hearing Worley is possibly out...

Its gonna be ugly if Worley starts, so whats it really matter..
If the freshmen are ready to play in that kind of environment against that kind of defense, so be it. If not, I would really lose some respect for the coaching staff if they push one of the younger guys into that situation before they're ready. The coaches have a responsibility and give promises to the player's families that they will develop, protect and nurture the players. To answer your question, it could REALLY ugly against that defense with a freshman who hasn't taken one snap in a college football game.

There holding Dobbs back hoping for a redshirt, but I don't get it. You can have another one like him come in next year and have 3 years to learn from him. Florida is going to prepare for Worley and Peterman. Why not suprise them with Dobbs and have a chance? I watched him closely at the open practice, he can throw too.

I've learned from this thread that there is not supposed to be levels of ugly or levels of embarrassment, etc. So there isn't a difference between ugly and "REALLY" ugly. Thought you might want to know. :)

I heard Hyams say this on 104.5 this morning. Is anyone else reporting it? I need a little bit more than Jimmy's word.

First I would like to preface this with yes I am from Worley's hometown of Rock Hill SC. And yes I know the young man personally. That said, I have been a Volunteer fan longer than most of the posters/readers here have been alive. Saw my first game at Neyland in 1958.

To most of the nay sayers here, there has not been a starting QB at Tennessee that you have not wanted to bench since a guy named Manning played the position.

Do you really think CBJ just likes Worley more than Peterman? Or could it be he thinks he gives the team a better chance to win? Personally I am going to go with the latter.

Did the QB position give up all those points to Oregon?

Why not a clamoring for benching the entire defense?

Most of the so called experts say Tennessee has one of the best O lines in the country. Why cant we run the ball?

Its going to be a long road back to respectability.

I will be here cheering when we make it back.

I'm not in the "Bench em" club, but there is an argument there against Worley. He killed several drives, so yes he is to blame for some of the defensive woes. Did you happen to count the 3 and outs? Again, it's Butch's call, but it is looking like an obvious one.

... as starting QB on other sites. Hyams saying that Butch is gonna open the position back up. Can anyone confirm?

SIAP. Didn't se it clearly marked in a thread

Butch said this morning at his press conference that it was an open competition this week and who her QB manages the offense the best will start.

I'm hoping that Worley doesn't get the nod. We need to think long term, and I think most agree that he's just not talented enough. I know the last thing people want is a true freshmen QB to start in the swamp, but I see one of the freshmen getting a shot at things in the next few weeks. I'll stick with my original guess, after Georgia.

Fortunately Coach Jones puts little stock in the coaching advice recieved via VN. If he did we would have a 10 year return to good football instead of 3 to 5.
