Fortunately Coach Jones puts little stock in the coaching advice recieved via VN. If he did we would have a 10 year return to good football instead of 3 to 5.
I find it strange post game when Worley saids he doesn't feel like he struggled.
All I'm saying is that if he did, we might not have suffered the worst loss in school history by punting on multiple 4th and 1 even AFTER multiple scores from said punts.
I get your point. But it seems like TN is just forfieting the game against UF if we start Worley given he is not a running threat at all, and is barely servicable as a passer.
We are facing one of the best defenses in the Country saturday. But TN has a small chance at victory because of UF's woes on O.
If we come in with a new QB maybe it will catch UF off guard. I don't want to just give up this game.
We will never know however, had he gone for it this crowd would be trying to crucify him for trying. The Oregon defensive line absolutely dominated the line of scrimmage and the chances of moving on them on 4th down were practically nil, zilch, nada, 0%.
First I would like to preface this with yes I am from Worley's hometown of Rock Hill SC. And yes I know the young man personally. That said, I have been a Volunteer fan longer than most of the posters/readers here have been alive. Saw my first game at Neyland in 1958.
To most of the nay sayers here, there has not been a starting QB at Tennessee that you have not wanted to bench since a guy named Manning played the position.
Do you really think CBJ just likes Worley more than Peterman? Or could it be he thinks he gives the team a better chance to win? Personally I am going to go with the latter.
Did the QB position give up all those points to Oregon?
Why not a clamoring for benching the entire defense?
Most of the so called experts say Tennessee has one of the best O lines in the country. Why cant we run the ball?
Its going to be a long road back to respectability.
I will be here cheering when we make it back.

We watched 2 different games. Our guys created the holes, we couldn't hit them. The whole read option is moot with Worley in the game. He has ZERO threat if he did choose to keep it. Lane and Neal go down to easy for RB's of their size. But at 51-7, I'd say its safe if you go head and go for it on 4th down. Or maybe after they scored 3 straight possessions from punting.
since you claim to be the elder statesman maybe you to old to realize worley is not the answer. i think butch started him because of experience. he couldnt throw it in the ocean standind on the beach. and you can look at all my other post i have said from the begining he was not the answerFirst I would like to preface this with yes I am from Worley's hometown of Rock Hill SC. Although I agree, I wish we would have went for the 4th and 1, not making it and giving Oregon a short field wouldnt be smart either. It was a coaching decision and I'm going with our coach's decision. I'm all in on Butch and think he will get us back where we belong, but it won't be done overnight. Oregon is a very very good football team. Get over it and lets move on. It is what it is. GO VOLS, I'm always a VOL not matter what.
