Imagine Heup's Record if...

Is it the refs fault when we run the ball on 2nd and long for no gain?

Is it the refs fault when we give Beck enough time to read War and Peace before he throws a pass ?
Beck didn't hold the ball maybe 3 seconds until it was out of his hand. Tennessee needs to use a short passing game like Georgia did to keep moving the ball downfield. Take the deep shots when the secondary has to play more honest against our receivers.

I'm new but it feels like the really dumb people here outnumber the smart people like 10:1
calling people names is sophomoric and immature and telling someone to go look elsewhere for examples is pure lazy.

Please bring more to the table than just name calling when you can’t bring factual information. Unless you cant. It’s perfectly normal to disagree. It’s ironic at best to call someone dumb then have zero information to back up your argument.

Imagine his record if we didn’t commit stupid penalties, drop passes, fumble, miss tackles, overthrow receivers, lose opposing team’s receivers in coverage or miss blocks…we’d be damn near perfect.

You always have much more control over improving your own performance so that’s where the focus must be…
I agree with this sentiment. They can 100% control all of those things. I think Heup needs to be more of a disciplinarian to stop the undisciplined behavior.

What they can’t control is the refs and when they choose to enforce rules differently than the precedent or what the actual rule says and then there’s zero correction, at least one we can all see in real time. The 2 examples are the facemask that wasnt and the 12th man review. Both were ridiculous calls that should have easily been overturned or not enforced to begin with. This is inconsistency by the refs at the highest level that directly impacts the game.

And if anyone says it happens both ways, please provide a specific example.

I really pity this group of people on here. I can only imagine what their lives are like. I suck because “ enter excuse here”. My life isn’t going how I want because “enter excuse here”. Everyone is out to get me blah, blah, blah.

I admittedly skipped to the 2024 section. To think we beat arky or GA is comical. We flat out sucked both games. Exception is GA 1st quarter.

How bout “think about his record if he could perform on the road, if his offense didn’t go scoreless for halves at a time”. These threads are pathetic.

how about UGA's receiver moving, no call false start. and then Beck moving backwards before the snap, no call false start. Both were on their final drive which proved to be the nail in the coffin. Both were obvious no calls. I'm sure Heup has sent tape to the SEC office of this stuff. Go watch his press conference and tell me he wasnt upset. or His reaction to the calls on the sidelines. I agree with him. he should be mad.
What he should be is trying to find a coach capable of making in game adjustments, and scoring all quarters. He should focus on that, not officiating.

Unfortunately his job entails all of the above. He’s really the only person capable of criticizing calls in real time so i can appreciate that. I agree they need to learn how to adjust. Banks too. Pretty telling when the Georgia OL says they knew what the d was doing after watching film

He didn't also have to beat the refs?

2021:
Record: 7-6
Losses: Florida, Alabama, Georgia
Losses because of Refs: Pitt, Ole Miss, Purdue
Revised Record: 10-3

2022:
Record: 11-2
Losses: Georgia (rain), South Carolina (Michigan scouting, and the linebacker sabotage)
Revised Record: 11-2 (He was able to beat the refs this year)

2023:
Record: 9-4
Losses: Missouri, Georgia
Losses because of Refs: Florida, Alabama
Revised Record: 11-2

2024:
Record: 8-2
Losses because of Refs: Arkansas, Georgia
Revised Record: 10-0 (and probably ranked #1 in the country rn)

Heupel would easily be 42-7 (.857 winning percentage) at UT (with 2 easy wins upcoming). Because of SEC refs, he's 35-14. Imagine the boost to recruiting and resources. He'd be on the cusp of a Saban run.
I'm still pissed about that Purdue game.

I'll admit there were some memorable bad calls in some of those losses, especially in 2021, but it cuts both ways sometimes. I think we could subtract one for the Alabama game in 2022. The officials called a phantom PI call on Alabama that allowed us to tie the game late. I would have lost my sh!t if they had called that on Tennessee.

If you think this is a phantom PI call, you need to stop watching football.

This looks like fun!

I suck because “I wasn’t gifted enough and didn’t have the connections to bypass the standard grind”.
My life isn’t going the way I wanted it to because “I was born blind and deaf” (Im only qualified to be a ref).

Excuses! Reason! Logic! You losers make me sick!

Are these threads our version of throwing trash on the field? If we keep talking and yelling about it, are L's going to suddenly turn into W's?......I'm not sure the point of beating this dead horse. If your passionate about it, write the NCAA.

LOL. Defender was holding both his arms down. We didn't get one like that Saturday, but, both were definitely easy calls.

Four years at being close to the bottom in the country in penalities....Coaching issue. It never changes.
Yeah, it needs to be cleaned up, no doubt. If you watch a lot of football, including NFL Sundays, you see lots of penalties. The penalties in the NFL have increased drastically since practice time was regulated in the CBA. Practicing only once per day has much to do with extra penalties too. College players can only participate in organized practices and meetings so many hours per week. The NFL has at least regulated actual practice time. Coincidentally, OR consequently, penalties have increased since that change. It's an easy look

Imagine how good his record would be if we had a few more 4 and 5 star players and a a lot less penalties?

Arkansas, Missouri and South Carolina were inexplicable losses that never should have occured.

You can call it whatever you want to, but the phantom facemask extended UGAly's drive when it was still a tie ballgame. They would have had to punt.

The no call PI on squirrel caused us to have to punt.

The reveiwed 12th man is the first time anyone has called that a penalty this season and Ive never heard of the 3 second rule. That's certainly not the way its been handled and there are dozens of examples of that this season. That extended a drive for them as well.

To say the refs didn't have a direct impact that game, especially in the second half, is short sighted.
The only 3 second rule is that you have 3 seconds to decide to sub. Once you do, the official is to stand over the ball until it's complete. Missouri did it to us a few years ago with 14 seconds on the play clock. We subbed and they slowly walked off the field until we got a delay of game. Reviewing it and getting it completely wrong was egregiously bad call.

Bama got away with massive offensive pass interference on on of their TDs…… don’t forget that

Actually, we got beat in the heads of the coaches. Our philosophy of attack, attack, attack became don't mess up, don't mess up, don't mess up, which gives the players absolutely no chance to succeed.
100%. Rushing 4 when the QB has thrown for over 300 yards is very conservative. Meanwhile Kirby was sending 6-7 and knocking Nico’s D in the dirt.

You were given a pretty clear example of one of the biggest plays of the game- Kitselman's TD. There was a clearly uncalled Illegal Motion...do your own research. Educate yourself to other perspectives. You think Georgia fans were saying, "man...we sure are getting every call tonight, aren't we?" Geesh.
