While in undergrad at MTSU, one of the guys living in our dorm ran for student body pres. He won. Quite the accomplishment because Shawn wasn't in a fraternity. Really great dude. Friendly, caring. Probably couldve had a future in politics if he wanted. Black guy. Well, at a February BB game he had a little something planned for Black History Month. Nothing serious...more on the fun side. He had 2 white dudes in 70s fashion doing some dances as he did his thing. They both wore afro wigs. Good time had by all. I thought nothingh of it because both my older brothers wore their hair in a fro. But some students got offended. Said some very disparaging things about Shawn. Campus newspaper kept it going for a couple of weeks. Of course, it eventually blew over but anyone who knew Shawn would have known there was no malice intended.
