Interesting Statistics

dude, you keep saying work for a smart school, but you wont tell what you do at this school. That is very important in detmining your validity

Dude?????? You are a liar about what you do. I did say what I did here at this university.

You want my educational background? B.S. Economics. M.S. Management Science. How about my work history? 10 years at Nissan. Cost accountant for 4 years, director of purchasing for 3 years and then operations manager for 3 years. 7 years at GE. 4 years as operations manager and then 3 years as VP of purchasing and material R&D. 4 years at my current job as an administrator at The University of the South in Sewanee.

The reason more rich people are republicans is because they don't like paying taxes. It has very little to do with right wing conservative values. Rich people are a lot closer to the center than to the far right.

YOu would be wrong to doubt it, but it is certainly your perogative.

Then me??? LOL. YES, I know more about smart people THAN you. I work for one of the top academic universities in the country.

but, but, but....."I WORK there!!!!!"

"Thank you for calling Brain Lobe University Department of Waste Services..."

No, i am a teacher. Never lied about that buddy.

Ok, you are an administrator, how does that qualify you as a judge of intellegence and how to make the assumptions you have made?

I'm from Tennessee :) We moved to WV due to my dad's job. And yes he is employed by the Feds lol.

The state I live in has no effect on my level of intelligence, which quite honestly, trounces yours.

Isn't the point of this thread to imply that the average level of intelligence of any given state can be imputed to the voters - and thus, indirectly represents the IQ of the political ideology of the majority of voters in that state? If this imputation doesn't apply to you, how does it apply to anyone else?

I see lots of statistics on incoming freshmen GPAs and test scores on not only our students, but students from both private and public institutions across the US.

What assumptions did I make?

You are a teacher yet don't know the difference between "then" and "than"? Do you use the word then when you should use the word than because it is the way you pronounce the word than?

Are you a southern baptist?

I am a bible thumping southern baptist!

Won't totally disagree with you on this one. I came to work here in order to get away from the stress of manufacturing management. My salary is much less here, but I am much happier. Salary has never been too important to me anyway

too bad you can't say the same about status

I was not skeptical on your statements before but now I am. You said you work at a university that has an average GPA for entrants of over a 3.9 and an average ACT of 31. If you really worked at this institution you would know that Sewanee's mean GPA is only 3.6 and the ACT range from lowest to highest quartile is 26-30. Far from a 31 mean. Second, saying that you worked as a cost accountant with only an economics degree is surprising. Prior to attaining a higher degree, I worked in accounting. I never met any entry-level cost accountant without an accounting degree. While you may be telling the truth, misrepresenting facts about the institution you are employed has made me question the validity of that assertion as well.
