Iowa Caucus

I had a very different opinion a few years ago. I've talked to enough of the Iraq vets to know what a cluster F the nation building became.

You cannot save people from themselves. It has to happen organically.

very good friend of mine trained Iraqi police on his second tour. Needless to say he was less than complimentary about their performance and future success

I did a study once called "The Care and Feeding of a Suicide Bomber." It takes anywhere from 6-10 people to successfully train, house, hide, aim and launch one suicide bomber. For the most part a guy doesn't just wake up one day, fill a vest or his car with explosives and go blow himself up. Contrary to popular belief, most Muslims do not want to kill themselves.

I never said most, but many are willing to and have.

I choose not to, I have a wife and a nice paying career. It's a personal decision, just like they made the personal to sign up. Not sure where it's your business or what this has to do with anything.

Your wife, family, and career are more important than those of a Soldier? You are a privileged, self-entitled ass.

We would have no wars if:

1) we paid for them through direct taxation
2) everybody served time in the military

The people wouldn't stand for it.

Where did I say that you prick? I said it's a personal decision no one made them sign up they did it willingly.

It would be nice if every war was voluntary for the members of the military; persons like Justin would have to put their own ass on the line fr their beliefs.

You believe in the cause. Fight for it. I have never let someone else do my bidding for me. Don't know if I could look myself in the mirror if I did.

Screw you. This ignore feature sure will come in handy, I have never used it before but you are the most worthless person I have ever had any interaction with.

America needs to run under Starship Troopers rules. Serve your time, become a citizen, fight alien bugs.

I have a friend in Afg right now with a wife, 3 young kids and he will be paid very well when he gets out. Why is his life worth risking to fight the evil muslims when yours is not?

I am a Libertarian, however, i feel that every young man should serve 3 years in the military. Did wonders for me, so long ago.

I've heard they were beyond lazy and didn't really care much about anything.

I've advocated this for awhile. I think every able-bodied person (both male and female) ought to serve at least two years. It would go a long way towards solving quite a few of America's problems.

and have 365 different holidays to get out of PT. He compared it to the atrophy of a muscle from living under SH for so long

I am not sure why some of you can't grasp this. Did I or anyone else make him sign up? He made a decision to sign up, I made a decision not to.

so since he signed up he should be forced into dangerous situations because you feel it is necessary? Do you feel this current fight is necessary for the survival of the US?

I strongly oppose the measure (if government has the power to make us serve in the military then we are literally slaves to the state), but it would curtail our strong foreign policy.

People think a draft would end the enthusiasm for war but we had a draft and we ended up with a lot of war. Too many loopholes and the poorer classes ended up doing more than their fair share.
