Rumor suggest 3GS is finally getting retired. iOS6 will more than likely be the last OS support for the device. Makes sense. Drop the 4 to the free device, discount an 8GB 4s,and let the 5 be the feature device.

I cant decide if I should keep unlimited data for 30/month or switch to the plan that allows my iPhone to be a hotspot...20.00/month extra and a cap at 5GB but I'm considering it...anyone have experience with this? My iPad is wifi only which is why I'm even considering it.

So are you saying $50 a month for 5GB with hotspot?

Check your data usage in settings and see what you average. I'm getting the hotspot too and had the same concern. Turns out I've only been averaging 1gb a month so "unlimited" was really meaningless for me.

I only have 2GB and the closest I've come to using all of it is 1.75GB. My cycle ends today and I just got a notification yesterday that I had reached 50% of my data. I don't stream a lot of video but I am on the internet and stream music a lot. Granted I'm on wi-fi 80% of the day. Unless you are planning to use your phone hotspot as your primary internet connection 5GB should be plenty.

My next upgrade isn't until June so I'll probably just hang on to my 4S until the 5S comes out next year (I'm assuming it'll be a 5S in 2013 since Apple's pattern with the iPhone seems to be a new design on even-numbered years, and keeping the same design with updated specs on subsequent odd-numbered years).

My max in 15 months was 1.5GB so I'm sure I'll be fine with 5...still hesitant and I'm not sure why. Now that Nashville has 4GLTE will I be using it more? I will eventually go for it because of the convince but still makes me nervous.

Correct, data is no joke - I'm used to paying 30 now so an extra 20 isn't the big deal for me, the big deal is losing unlimited data.

To be fair, we get a 25.00/month discount through my wife's employer so that does help.

There are a lot, WatchESPN is great (depending on who your ISP is)
Facebook has a good app (finally)
The Atlantic Magazine is good
News Channel 5 is a good local news app
I switch between WSJ, NYT and NPR for national news
Couple others I use often:
Bank of America
American Express
Lux Delux (Risk board game)
Netflix
Roku
Weather Channel
XBOX
Golf Now
Stubhub
Amazon
Zillow
Docs To Go
CNet

If you need the hotspot that sounds good based on your past usage. I'm keeping my unlimited as long as I can but I don't need the hotspot. LTE will probably use a little more but if 1.5 is your max you should still be ok with 5GB.

Yeah I think that's a fake. The home button looks off-color. I'll be going white this time around though. Tired of having a black iPhone.

If you guys are going to upgrade, Apple pre-order is the best way to go. Just make sure you are in front of a computer or have the "Apple Store" app on your current iPhone. It was pretty painless when I got my 4S. Waited until the afternoon before I placed my order and it came on launch day. It'll probably be a lot more hectic this go-round because of the redesign.

Still hoping all these widely-leaked pictures of parts and of the design have been purposely leaked by Apple to throw people off. Not too big on the "long phone". I'd like it to be wider. Tim Cook stated a couple of months ago that they were "doubling down" on security for their future products. Either Apple just totally muffed it on all these product leaks or they are doing a magnificent troll job. How crazy would it be if all these leaks happen to be past prototypes and the 5 is something totally different?

I was addicted to Lux Delux for about a year on my old iPod touch. Still have it on my iPhone but haven't played it in a while.

Tune In Radio is great. Use that for streaming on my car radio for the TN Sports Radio shows. Don't care much for TSR's dedicated app.

Disappointed in the fact that all the leaks were accurate. Can't decide if I'll get this or not. I like that the FaceTime camera has been updated, much needed.
