iPhone

If they were all free who would develop the new apps?

I have $9 total invested in 4 apps, and I have over 150 on my phone, I think I've got everything I need.

GPS $2
Skyfire $2
Free Memory 2.0 $1
WunderRadio $4 and it was worth every penny.

Get the Appsfire and Fizzapp apps and check them regularly for freebies. You'll be loaded up with free apps in no time.

Yeah I know we're not talking huge $ but it still sucks when I think of the price of the phone along with the data plan. But you make a great point.

Do you feel the same way about software for computers or video games on consoles?

Most apps have Lite versions that you can sample the product first then upgrade later. Or you can jailbreak and get hacked versions. I've tried out a few photo apps that way. If I like it enough to get regular use out of it I pay for it in the App store later.

As for the 5, I'm not due for an upgrade this year so I doubt I will upgrade until the 5s or maybe even the 6. I carried around an iPod Touch(Gen 2) for 3 years before I broke down and got an iPhone. So I can wait.

i'm going to get a 4s once the new one comes out

I'm still on the original....had it atleast 4 years, so time for an upgrade

The thing about having 4 lines is there's always an upgrade available.

I have already told the lady in our HR department that I will be taking on of the company line upgrades to get a 5. If the rumors are correct it will be released on my birthday so happy birthday to me.

Govols/cc is see you live in Spartanburg. I live in Boiling Springs. You planning on heading to the Dome?

I just got an Iphone this year.....I had to decide between paying big bucks for the 4 or get the 3gs for a penny. I chose the 3gs and love it! Only thing I regret is the 4 has a flash on the camera and I dont get to talk to Suri. Any photo apps to get better quality photos you recommend?

I barely use Siri. I set the occasional reminder and set timers when cooking but otherwise I don't get a whole lot of use out of her.

I've never used it but camera+ gets great reviews. For standard shots I like the stock app. I like hipstamatic for retro pictures. It can get pricey though, $2.99 for initial download and then you can buy more film and lens packs for 99¢ ea. It takes great pictures though as opposed to Instagram which just runs a filter over your images.

If you're interested, the MapQuest GPS app is free and it is fantastic.

Also, I haven't seen it mentioned here but iOS 6 supposedly WILL NOT have a YouTube app. From what I've read, there's some kind of beef between Apple and Google so Apple decided not to have it. You can still use YouTube through Safari (or the browser of your choice) and they expect Google to develop a YouTube app that will be available through the app store.

I'm OK with that. Sometimes all the different web based apps are more of an annoyance. I would rather just use the web browser and the developers just develop nice mobile web sites.

Well hell man that sucks. Maybe we could meet up one day and watch a game together. It would be nice to nknow a few more Vol fans around town.

That's cool. I'm a Byrnes grad but was born & raised in Tennessee. I actually live in Duncan.

The real problem was the youtube app was terrible. Studies and usage models showed that nearly 80% of youtube watching was done through the browser. So, no one was using the app anyway.

Might be mistaken, but it was an Apple app. They have simply chosen to remove it since it's crap and no one uses it. Google then said they will supply an app available soon in the app store.

The Maps stuff was probably a bigger deal. Hopefully Apple whips up a great new nav program and forces Google and others to keep pushing. I know Google has been pumping a lot of resources into Maps and Earth lately.

Aparrently YouTube had some sort of licensing agreement with Apple that ran out & Apple chose not to pursue renewing it. Word is that YouTube is developing a downloadable app.

I downloaded camera+ and so far I have edited several of my photos that I took that were not good and they look great now!

Another fun editing app is pixl-r-omatic. It's has a free version and a pro for 99¢. You can do some neat effects with that one.

A few more paid ones are cool.
snapseed $4.99
rays 99¢
noir $2.99

Took pic at the game with stock app. It was zoomed in and my hand wasn't the steadiest. So I decided to play around with snapseed, pixl-r-magic, vintique, and sketchbook pro. Went back and forth between apps. Here is the result.

I read that Apple is buying back your used 4s. If it's in good condition, you can get around $230 to $285 for your iPhone. So that's something some might want to consider.
