I haven't did it but I think you save your SHSH blobs using tiny umbrella so if you have to do a restore you can use a previous version of iOS instead of just the latest version in iTunes.

I can't figure out how to save the blobs. Tiny Umbrella doesn't seem to work with 6.1.2; at least not on my machine.

What Oper Sys & What bits?
What ver Itunes?

I double checked to make sure it is the latest.

Lion most recent 64-bit.

Just upgraded yesterday to the most recent.


I get an error in TU stating it isn't compatible with this version and no blobs are saved.

Am I missing something?

There's something new in cydia that pertains to all this but I didn't bother reading all of it. The SHSH that was listed at the top of cydia page that was supposedly stored isn't any longer.

The SHSH stuff changes so often that it's hard to keep up with it. Don't understand all of it, just do what I read to do. Apple signs this, Apple is no longer that...blah blah blah

APPLE is NOT signing iPad23G 6.1.2 (10B146) SHSH requests anymore. All you can do now is select CYDIA and hope that CYDIA has your SHSH saved. If not, there is nothing you can do.

Lets try this one in Cydia 1st before Ifaith (having to read some). Open Cydia / Install app"iSH****" & see if that will save them. What IOS was on the phone when you did the JB?

Install which app? ISH****? Did the word filter catch something there? :lol:

The device had 6.1.2 when it was jailbroken and still does.

If you did the JB with with Evasi0n the blobs are saved in Cydia. Where they are I don't know. This is a quote from the web:
"The first thing is that Cydia will automatically save the SHSH blobs for iOS 6.1.2. When you jailbreak the iOS 6.1.2 using Evasi0n, it will automatically save the SHSH blobs for iOS 6.1.2. But for some users mentioned that these blobs are not saved automatically, so, you can use the alternative methods."

I'm lost. :lol: I did use Evasi0n though.
