iPhone

I installed an app yesterday called Trapster 5.0 where users can report speed traps, red light cameras and the app will warn you within a specified distance.

Seems like it has potential.

I have one similar that isn't worth crap. It's dependant on users posting & it never seems to add new ones or delete old ones.

is there something Im missing with Pandora in the jailbroken world? What does jailbreak add to pandora?

Unlimited skips plus pandora downloader where you can download songs to the pandora downloader app. Not sure if the 40 hour thing has affected anything yet & unlimited skips isn't quite unlimited. After a lot of skips it kinda freezes & if you just leave it for 15 or 20 minutes it kinda reboots or something & you're good.

Ness is another new app I really like, for restaurant recommendations. Foodspotting tried to do this but pretty much just annoyed me.

Dang, ok thanks

Sorry. If you're on the fence the best thing to do is not upgrade after a jailbreak is released. Most of the upgrades are pretty much nothing anyway. The next will probably be sometime after iOS7 is released. Or I should say a long time after its released.

Not worth it to lose the jailbreak. Probably have the icons on cydia soon.

You need to watch the keynote. There is a lot more to the redesign than just icons.

I think the only thing I will really miss about jail break is free tethering. But I don't use it that often anyway.

Looked at the cliff notes. Still don't think it's worth losing the jailbreak.

I thought the tethering with jailbreak was iffy at best?

Works flawlessly for me.

I use 3G unrestrictor more though. It allows me to face time with my daughter wherever I may be. A big plus as she's studying abroad this summer and I don't always have wifi when she calls.

FaceTime is available on cell network as of iOS6 anyway.

I use tetherme and it works great. I rarely need to use it though.

Other jaibreak features I use that are being added include easy access to toggleing Bluetooth and wifi via the new control panel that swipes up from the bottom including built in flashlight, NC on the lock screen, multitasking previews and endless folders.

I really like the safari redesign with tab view and new back navigation by swiping from the left edge.

This is a pretty sweeping overhaul. I'm looking forward to playing with it.

And the camera roll organization redesign is long over due. As someone who takes a ish ton of pictures that feature alone is worth upgrading.

Face time is not available without wifi if you have unlimited data package. Same with tethering.

I use PDAnet for tethering & it works great. I've used it to connect PS3s & for hotspot a lot lately. Like was mentioned I use 3G unrestrictor for FaceTime as well. It's not allowed without a seperate plan on AT&T or at least if you have unlimited data. There's other things like iBlacklist, pandora tweaks, etc that I want to keep as well.

Is that an AT&T thing? Pretty sure my wife has used it at least once on 3G. She still has unlimited with Verizon.

I do have AT&T.

I am disappointed that I can't update right away, but my phone is much more useful to me in its current state. Hopefully it won't take too long for the JB to be ready.

I hope you're right but it takes longer & longer each time.

It is. If you have unlimited on AT&T there should still be a $15/mo option to tether/hotspot.

Verizon was not contractually allowed to keep people from tethering, though obviously whenever that line gets upgraded it will lose unlimited data.

You lose your unlimited data if you do it through AT&T.
