iPhone

Thanks Trubbleshooter... very informative. I may look into a few of those.

I don't believe Echofon supports multiple accounts, so I use Tweetie2 mostly.

14: A few I initially left off the list overlooked really : "Factbook" one of the few apps I actually paid for I think $2 . This app is The world factbook and has everything you can think of about every country in the world. I mean population, economy, religion, education
,currancy, conflicts, geography, disputes, illegal activity, boundary disputes. Also has built-in map and flags . Very handy informative appwell woth paying for.

is it "the World Factbook" ?

nice recaps

Bumping this thread.

I've been getting a lot of use out of GoodReader and Dropbox.

If you have your iPhone jailbroken Backgrounder is a GREAT app that allows different programs to run in the background... so you could have Slacker or Pandora running in the background and be reading an ebook, or surfing the web or whatever. You can choose which programs you want to run in the background.

I haven't jailbroken mine to this point. Have you? I worry about battery life and lock-ups.

I've jailbroken my iPhone numerous times. The only issue I have had is that it slowed down my iPhone a bit because of the CPU and memory needed. This time it seems to be working just as fast as before. Also, do not use pwnage tool if you are going to jail break. With iPhone 3.0 their software makes the phone unable to find the service provider. Blackra1n works wonderfully though.

advantages of jailbreaking:

1) theme your phone

Here is my phone right now:

2) run apps in the background

3) free tethering.

That gives me a headache.

Tethering would be cool. What type of speeds to you get with that?

I've only done it once or twice. It was normal 3G speed. Not as fast as I'm used to (obviously), but it seemed to work just fine. And yes, I agree about the UT theme. Which is why I am not using it.

You can actually pick up a refurb 8g 3G for only $49 now. $99 for the 16g.

the catch is with 2 year agreement with that I tried to get a used one seeing as mine is cracked. But they wanted me to renew my contract to get it for those prices.

Words with friends is pretty awesome.
I use the google calender app calengoo daily.

I'm jailbroken and unlocked and have no problems. I'm on tmobile.

I got the ESPN radio app while I was driving back to TX from ATL so I could listen to some games.

I like it.

I am at work and I want to listen to the AFC playoff game on the radio. It really pisses me off that every live stream of the game uses a flash player and the iphone will not allow that capability.

That is the one thing about my iphone that I hate. It may be enough to make me look at a google phone or droid the next time I upgrade.

I've heard about this but I'm not sure I fully understand it. Care to explain how it works?
it's basically a scrabble app that let's you play multiple games at once with other users. It can get pretty hectic when you have 10 games or so running. all in all, a great app.

I was in the same boat. I never could find a stream of the playoff games. But I hate flash... I think it's pretty crappy. Unfortunately a lot of sites use it.
