iPhone

For you JB guys, how many crashes are you getting? I'm having to reboot a few times a day and I don't have very many tweaks installed. I'm considering restoring until I need tethering again.

Are you talking about the Springboard crashing? Its onky happened once in the past month for me and that was today.

Yes. Sometimes it goes into safe mode, requiring a restart. Other times it reboots itself.

It may be a certain package you installed. First I would make sure all your packages are up to date. If the problem persists I would retore from a back-up and re-jailbreak.

I had a problem with an ipad 2 crashing to the Apple logo last year. Apple had me do a hard restore but it continued to happen after that so they replaced it. I did have Appe Care.

Read a funny story today about Ellen at the Oscars, which was sponsored by Samsung. On stage she used a Galaxy (5?) to snap a selfie with some in the audience and post it on twitter.

Then she went back stage and used her iPhone to tweet more selfies.

Added a JB tweak called Clever Pin. It disables the passcode in secure locations that you set up. For instance, when I connect to my home network it auotmatically disables it. Then when a leave my house (and the network) it reactivates it.

Also set up activator to turn on blutooth when I connect to a charger and turn it off when I unplug. This comes in handy in the car.

I have been wanting to JB my iPhone 5. However I have iOS 7.0.6 and have been seeing that jail breaking will cause major stability issue. Is that true?

Apple is finally being sued over this iMessage SMS issue.

I've had my Galaxy S5 for weeks (still kicks the **** out of my iPhone 5S) but quite a few of my friends with iPhones still can't text me. I've gone pretty much exclusively to facebook messenger to communicate with my iPhone-using friends.

FTR, I don't think Apple deliberately made it so iPhones/iMessage would not send to Android, but I think there's a pretty strong possibility that they knew of a major flaw in their programming that caused that issue to happen, and chose to do nothing about it.

Have you tried going to the apple site & accessing your account & disabling the devices you no longer have?

Or if you still have the phone just turn it on & disable.

I've done all that, called Apple Care and still have issues receiving texts from iPhone. The only fix so far seems to be to have whoever is texting me to delete the conversation thread to restart it as normal SMS or to have them disable imessage when texting me.

No two ways about it, major mess on apples part. I still like the macbook but I'm seriously reconsidering buying any more Apple products going forward.

I think the key is to disable before you change phones. Either way it shouldn't be an issue or as big a headache as it is.

It took my sister about a month for it to finally remove her # from imessage. It was definitely a headache for her.

Did you turn off imessage on your Mac Book?

Not sure if it would matter but maybe your friends should change their contact info. Like change the device from iPhone to mobile & make a separate contact for iMessage with the email. Probably just best to delete & re-enter all your info.

I did that for my sister 3 times and it didnt work. I think it just takes time for Apples servers to cycle it through out of the system.

Not sure those labeled fields in the contact card really mean anything.

I did that and it's still having issues. Many of my customers have the same issues.

Having all of my friends with iPhones delete and reenter my contact info is not a viable solution.
