Is secession the answer?

Lol. What's that supposed to mean?
I'm saying good luck... hope for the best. Before COVID, I seriously entertained the idea of packing up. But now, I'm not sure there are any places to run and hide. Might end up being better to tough it out in a red state.

Where I'm contemplating is a remote island in the bahamas. No commercial flights either private or charter in. Or you can get there by boat. Very little in the form of stores. You either take it, grow it or catch it. Very little government on the island. One policeman I think. Population of about 50, 75% natives. Hurricanes do worry me.

Too hot and as you say prone to hurricanes. I'd go for an island in the S Pacific if I had the kind of money to buy an island. Speaking of storms ... time to find a flashlight.

My leftist buddies and I will find it and move there, then we will institute yet another commie/socialist regime from which you will have to flee.

Temps in the fall-spring are mid to upper 70's upper 60's at night. Don't have the funds for a private island.

We'd probably keep a presence in Tennessee, rural Tennessee for the summer. Maybe even off the grid. I've often thought about acreage with a stream for hydro power along with solar and wind. I currently live on 50 acres but it's too close in for what I'm looking for.

I've even toyed with the idea to buy a boat and cruise the Caribbean in the winter. Lots of options on the table right now.

I'm good with that. By then I'll be ready for you to take care of my ass.

We went to Tahiti (Bora Bora and Moorea) a few years ago. I was amazed at how much more I enjoyed the days there than in the Caribbean. The entire time we were there it went to low 70s at night and the low 80s in the day, and there was always a comfortable breeze. I just never had the hot muggy feeling you get so much in the Caribbean islands. It was in July - Aug - so their winter, but from what I've read the summers are warmer but not by a lot.

It depends where you go. The northern Bahamas can get pretty cool in the winter. I was there last in March and the water felt fine to me but the natives froze to death, said it was too early to swim. The summers can get hot but I didn't think it felt any hotter or muggier than here in east Tennessee.

We will have taken your 10 cents on the dollar along with of all your guns, and forced you to get lethal vaccines by then.

Not possible. We will land with supplies of soy latte Kuerig cups and spinach toast which will immobilize you long enough for us corral you and surround you by curing meats thus preventing you from trying to escape since you couldn’t stand the close proximity to real beef.

(That was difficult as hell to try and put into a coherent sentence and I’m not sure I was successful)

Thanks, Faulkner.

I'm an old school commie, I like my guns and red meat (as long as they're mine and not yours).
