Is this a tweet from one of our players laughing?

The kid in question didn't play Saturday and probably won't this season. Easy to see why with that type of attitude.

We're gonna keep seeing freshmen playing in favor over the upperclassmen get used to it. I don't want players like Murphy on the team if he thinks it's acceptable and funny that we lost to GA st and I would bet 1/3 of the upperclassmen prob don't give a crap either.

The fact that the tweet went out tells you there's no discipline and the fact that the player is still on the team tells you there is no accountability. End of last year with MO and VU this looked like a team in a state of mutiny but there was enough plausibility to the idea that they were just played out due to lack of depth that Pruitt got the benefit of the doubt. Now, it's apparent that this is just a big fiasco careening over the cliff's edge. If we don't stomp a mudhole in BYU, Pruitt needs to be fired immediately. Let Tee run it the rest of the season. Couldn't possibly do any worse and he couldn't say he didn't get a shot.

View attachment 222225please tell me its not who i think it is.. A current player

This really pisses me off. I get it he’s young but what have these so called “best coaches in America” been doing that this young man thinks this is funny or remotely ok? I blame these coaches for obviously slacking off discipline wise. Being an immature kid is universal but even the most childish young people know what they can or cannot get away with from certain people. This screams no accountability at all.

This is our team folks...They could care less..And don't blame Kiffin or Dooley or Jones for this...This is on our new coaches and staff...The players take on the personality of the coaches and this is what we have now...They just don't care...not sure why they are even on the team if they aren't playing to win every game...Waste of time and state money .

Horse crap it isn’t on the players, he is a grown man.

We all want to win. I guess I just realize there are far more serious things in life than bitching about a kid saying something stupid. In the realm of screw ups, we've had players do far worse. I agree, he needs to pull his head out of his ass, but too many people are screaming for blood. Put down the pitchforks and torches and let's see what happens against BYU. In a perfect world, he'd be corrected by other players, but if that happens, it'll be behind closed doors.
Weezer, I love ya brother. But you are wrong.

Screaming for blood and playing football like men, this is what its about brother.
Not this pansy ass **** we are seeing on the field.

We aren’t chasing participation trophies, we are after the real deal.

But the players he brought in were really our only bright spots last year...back to my point that those players were coddled under butch Jones and they don't like the way Pruitt has a no nonsense approach
Coaches always have to take over and lead a bunch of players they didn't recruit. They have to recruit the current roster and lead them, it's an essential part of the job. Pruitt has spent much of his time here dumping on the current roster, and they've responded accordingly. Look at North Carolina, they went 2-10 last year, and those same players came in and fought their butts off for Mack Brown. Mack has had that effect everywhere he's ever been, it doesn't mean he can't recruit and flip the roster also, he's really good at that too, but it's the coaches job to go sell his vision to his team. Sometimes you see a mass exodus, very early in a coach's tenure, but if somebody stays beyond that, you have to assume that there has been a mutual decision made to move forward under the new way of doing things, the player has agreed to move forward and the coach's have decided the player has value. If we are having this level of mutiny over 1.5 years after Pruitt took over, he has lost a whole bunch of players who who originally bought in, my guess would be that he has dumped on them more privately than he has publicly (and he's done so on multiple occasions publicly) and he's shown them the respect as human beings he has repeatedly shown the fans on the coach show, i.e. none at all.

This is spot on. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Yep. Apparently Mack Brown embraced the team he had.

I understand what your saying but we went from beating Kentucky and aurburn to get blown out by candy and Missouri. He doesn't just lose players overnight. I'm stating there are a bunch of players that were playing under butch that are still here that are simply stuck in there old ways and don't like the way Pruitt coaches or they're not very talented. It's one or the other. How does this tweet not resonate with that. They have loser mentality and just don't care how they peform

There are far more serious things in life. I've been praying for a successful season to help distract me from them. The kid did something stupid and like I said, it's up to the other players or if need be the coaches to call him on it. I don't think he has any intention of tanking his own play. He just stupidly laughed about something everyone else is currently sensitive about. We're bitching about this kid not acting like an adult, all while not acting adult ourselves. And many of us are far older than he is. Like I said to VG, we all want to win. I've been on this hellish ride of UT football along with everyone else. But nothing is achieved by screaming for this young man's head. And maybe he can actually help make the team better. But that's up to the coaches. I'm tired of arguing about it. Everyone's so pissed off they can't reason straight, so whatever.

A lot of folks last year were saying "don't read too much into those last 2 games, Drew Lock was really good, Kyle Shurmur has had our number, both are gone", and that's what I wanted to believe as well. However, at this point I think we need to ask ourselves if we read too much into the Auburn and Kentucky games last year. Auburn was one of the most schizophrenic teams in college football last year, at times playing well (taking LSU to the wire, beating A&M, and pounding Purdue in the bowl game) and at times not so great (against us, Miss St., Bama, UGA), Mahlzahn's team last year had it's own level of dysfunction, perhaps we just took advantage of that on a day when more than our share of 50/50 balls went our way. The Kentucky game was a classic case of letting Georgia beat them twice, they got so fired up for that game and then lost it they were deflated, they rolled down to our place and got behind and simply weren't built for a comeback. I was sky high after both wins last year, and I'll always value both of them, but perhaps some should consider the strong possibility, in light of other evidence, that they don't mean Pruitt is some sort of genius and the savior of the program.

I think it goes hand in hand. We haven't matched with Missouri for a while now , it's always a track meet with them...losing to vandy is inexcusable just like GSU is. Idk what it was late last year to have those beatdowns but I think it was related to depth and we were down only like 5 OL. I will wait to make my judgement after this Saturday as I think we will a very focused team. I don't think I'm being a sunshine pumper, because I was very vocal about the loss but after seeing this tweet that one of the upperclassmen made, it makes sense as to why we are gonna be seeing so many freshmen play. It might get worse before it gets better but I wanna see better effort against BYU.

Tweet was dumb. The responses from adult UT fans was worse

What is dumb is that a current player on the team who happens to be part of one of the worst losses in the program's history isn't embarrassed by the loss? Not only that he wasn't even good enough to play on said terrible football team, no I would be ashamed to walk down the street if I were him much less make jokes about my own suckness.
