Actually, I agree with the socially liberal/fiscally conservative stance. I think people that need temporary help should get it. Help. Not hand outs for the rest of their lives. If that consists of job training, not college level educations... we could help with that. But when they are having 6,7,8 kids with 6,7,8 different fathers, then at some point that irresponsibility needs to be reconciled. The handouts stop. And the fathers need to be held accountable too (if of course you can find them.. Maury can help)

Reading philosophy means bupkis. I've read Schopenhauer and some others, and they contribute nada to my perception of the real world around me. Get your head out of academia and look around "professor".
Other than that, your rants are childish, and frankly quite surprising from a supposed learned man...
