Islam, is it a religion of peace or war?

Whereas Christianity was founded on the teachings of a decent person but out of which came the Crusades, The Inquisition and systematic pedophilia. It is not possible to estimate the death and maiming totals. Except for the pedophilia we thankfully seem to be in a lull at the moment. I believe that is only because Christian leaders today do not have political and military power as they did in centuries past.

The catholic church doesnt speak for Jesus, and yes it is true that men of every religion have perverted their religion and did things in the name of it, because all men are sinners and flawed. However, Mohammed himself is the issue, and clearly every word I said...historical and proven fact, Jesus was more than a "decent person" and never enslaved or raped or killed anyone...

Another thing is that Catholicism (again not Jesus' teachings), grew out of the Crusades and middle/dark ages while Islam has not

98% of all armed conflicts in the world are due to Islam trying to conquer others and instill their barbaric way of life (slavery, child brides, death to homosexuals, sharia law, women chattels, etc)

I seriously doubt they violate those laws seeing as they typically have to do with time of day and decibel level.

I'm not saying that they do, just pointing out why we have them.

People want to live in a community with the call to prayer being played multiple times per day go for it. But don't build a mosque in a community that doesn't want to hear it.

So should we do a door to door poll every time a religious building is about to be constructed?

Trying to figure out how things work in your hog.gov.

What’s predictable is you pooping your pants, over a call to prayer, and equating it to taking over New York. Let me guess, you also got fooled into believing parts of Minnesota were under sharia law?
I don't care what you think hill. A call to prayer shouldn't be blasting through any US city, zero, nada.

What’s your stance on street preachers and the constitution? And I will tell you the same thing I tell the gun grabbers, don’t like well there is a mechanism in our constitution to change it. Have at it and good luck. You are just as anti freedom as the gun grabbers.

It wouldn't hurt. I tried my best to stop a church from being built down the road from my house so I'm an equal opportunity "no".

There was a time where most of the world's conflicts were due to Christianity. Maybe it's not so much the religion as the people who follow the religion? Maybe Christianity has had enough time on the world stage to kind of ween out most of the radical element? I don't really know. But when Christians were discovering the New World, it wasn't uncommon to kill natives who didn't want to convert. And slavery and child brides has existed in the past of so called Christian cultures, as well as the killing of homosexuals. You need not look any further than our own country as proof. And the same can be found in the treatment of women if you go back a little over a hundred years. So I question if it's really the religion or the society. I think some try too hard to blame an entire religion rather than the particular people who are warping the religion to justify their actions, the same way Christians of the past did. But we never really hear that in honest discussion.

I can't stand seeing someone holding a bible up on a corner screaming at the top of his/her lungs.

It’s been covered up continually for decades by the Catholic Church. Just because we haven’t heard anything on the news that doesn’t mean it’s stopped.

You could argue the same for Islam. The Wahabbi sect is considered the most extreme and what drives terrorism.

The barbaric way of life is the same thing god supposedly commanded his chosen people to do in the Old Testament. Just shows the absurdity of the abrahamic religions.

not really, Mohammed is the actual focus of Islam and his teachings and actions are well-documented, he is no Jesus or even a Buddha, and shouldn't be held as comparable. Please tell me when Jesus enslaved someone, or raped them, or advised his followers to do so?

The Old Testament is part of the christian Bible. Plenty of that occurs there, which is commanded by god. I don’t recall any parts of the New testament that speaks against it or says to free slaves. Are we to assume god suddenly changed his mind after hundreds of years of killing, slavery, and capturing virgins for the men.

You were doing good until the last paragraph, then your ignorance shown through. No wonder you were a jarhead.

Your rebuttal wasn’t good at all. Personal attacks are what people resort to when they don’t have anything to refute a point.

I thought it was spot on since you completely ignored the New Testament.

Plus I’m not going to miss an opportunity to take a shot at a Marine.
