Islam, is it a religion of peace or war?

Well I’m not sure anybody is equating Christ worship with anything else. Nevertheless, that still doesn’t take away the fact none of you would exist without your father and all three of you can be traced back to him.

I think you may be arguing verbiage here and not concept.

Nah man I am not arguing semantics, or language. There are several different languages involved in the original texts..and sadly I know none of them.

These guys think that God (of the Bible) is the same being as allah ( of the quran) just because the founder of islam, Ishmael, had the same biological father as Isaac and Jacob.

This is both untrue, and dangerous.

If God wrote (inspired prophets to write) both books...then He would be liar. He would be telling people to never, ever lie in 1 book...then in the Quran telling them to lie to anyone who isnt a muslim (infidels).

He would be telling them to never kill (murder) and then in the quran telling them to kill and subjugate everyone else (infidels).

He would be a God of love in the Bible, who said the greatest commandment was to love our brothers as ourselves...then be a god of hate, revenge, lying, deception and murder in the quran who says to destroy the infidel
By any means necessary.

God cannot be God and say these things. God is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. He is perfect, and immutable (unchanging). He is the same today, tomorrow, and forever because he lives outside the constraints of time.

The God of the Bible and Torah, of Isaac and Jacob , cannot be the same god of the quran...or He is no God at all...and all who worship Him are wasting their time and headed for Hell. Jews worship God...they are just waiting for Messiah to come for the 1st time. Christians ( and Messianic Jews like Slice) believe Messiah (Christ) was already here. Died, resurrected, and will return again later. We both worship God the Father though. Same God, same scripture up until the New Testament.

Muslims believe an entirely different set of beliefs, in an entirely different god, and have an entirely separate doctrine, dogma, and prophets. They believe entirely different from Judaism and Christianity...to the point that as has been discussed, only the insincere or apathetic muslims can be allowed to live in western society. Those that obey their prophet and their gods commands are the ones that strap bombs to 12yo girls and send them into markets to kill the "infidels". Those are the "good" muslims. The devout muslims that obey their evil god.

It is both dangerous and wrong to say that the God of Jews and Christians is the same as the god of muslims. Hope I didnt come across to you as a butthead. I like you... purple tigerpanties is a troll that tries to aggravate people. You have always been cool as far as I am concerned. Go Vols

Waiting for all you...even self described Christians...who insist that the God of the Bible is the same god as allah to answer the question above.

Whenever you are ready just let me know. I am absolutely dumbfounded by how many Christians believe this falsehood. I do not expect others to know the truth. Anyone who has read both the Quran and the Bible and believes they are from/about the same god are quite confused.

Christians who believe Muslims worship the same God as Yahweh:
Catholics, Orthodox, Coptics, Lutherans, Anglicans, Methodists, Disciples of Christ, Presbyterians, Reformed, American Baptists, Cooperative Baptists, Billy Graham, the Pope, etc.

Christians who do not believe Muslims worship the same God as Yahweh:
You

God is a Trinity and Jesus is a third part of that Trinity. So it is not the same God seeing they reject the diety of Christ. You can not have the God of the Christians without Christ period! Therefore, you can be wrong if you want to, that's your choice.
Just my two cents...😁

I already said Jews and Muslims do not include Jesus as part of God. Our God the Father = Yahweh = Allah.

Because God existed in Christianity before Jesus. I understand your Trinity argument, but is the God of the Old Testament still the same God of the New Testament?
Jesus said, before Abraham was, I Am!

John chapter 1:1¶In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Verse 14 reveals who the Word is!
14¶And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus Christ has always been and always will be. So to deny his deity is to deny the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

You miss the point. Was Jesus mentioned in the O.T.? Islam and Judaism both have roots in the God of the O.T., who is the same God of the N.T. So it's not wrong to say they share the same God.

Study out who the Creator is. That will put you on the right path. Look where Jehovah said in Zechariah that they shall look upon me whom they have pierced. Yes he is mentioned in the old testament.
I completely understand your point.

I hope this helps. I'm not trying to be contentious, but stating truth about who God is.

The easiest way I can think to explain this, do you agree that Christianity and Judaism share the same God? That should be a fairly simple yes. The Bible absolutely supports this. So, how do Islam and Christianity connect? Islam traces back to the son Abraham had with Hagar, Ishmael. So the two religions split between Isaac and Ismael, both sons of Abraham.

And Islam went into idolatry and Israel rejected their God when they rejected Jesus and thus the God they serve is not the God of the Bible when you leave Jesus out.

All through the Bible God reveals himself to man as the Bible progresses. Now then we have a complete revelation of who God is. It's the God that includes Jesus Christ in the Trinity! Therefore the god of the Muslims is not the same God.
I don't know how to make it any easier to understand.

The Jews and Muslims don't believe that. I give the Jews props for identifying with Yahweh in the first place.

Well, no one managed to tell the Jews about it.
Purp,
This is a category mistake. Christians and Muslims doesn’t worship the same God except in the most generic sense.

To say that each is rooted in similar ideas and concepts is fine. Muslims reject the plurality of a god, which is fundamental to orthodox Christianity. And this is only ONE area. There are dozens of other examples on the fundamental nature of God where the arch differs.

The differences far outweigh the similarities.

I never said otherwise. All I said was they are the same God. There are huge differences in theology between Islam, Judaism and Christianity, but they all worship the same deity - the God of the Jews.
