Israel vs Palestinians

The North Korea one. the point wasn't that I thought the support for Hamas was near 100%. The point was the type of manipulation that goes into those numbers, whether its 100%, 76%, or the 88% for Putin.

I don't trust any of those numbers, and the difference between 100% to 76% doesn't reflect my trust them. I pointed out several ways that number could be manipulated, or just straight up be wrong.

I look at the results and I don't see any where close to 76% of the population actively helping Hamas, which leads me to believe that number is bs.

you guys are the ones 'absolutely' clinging to that 76% like you poll every single Palestinian once a month to verify that number.
All the polling is fake news!
- Louder

Talk about absolutist lol.

I place more stock in Palestinian political scientists, that have been polling Palestinians for over 30 years, than I do what you believe “could be”.

If it was 76% support for real, Hamas would be a LOT BIGGER. There are plenty of videos of the vast majority of civilians fleeing the fighting, not participating in it. that's enough for me to say they aren't 76% behind Hamas. Israel would be in a much much bigger fight than we are seeing if it was 76% of the population was Hamas.

yall have presented a false dichotomy, based on a poll for some reason you guys are taking to heart as a biblical truth. I am trying to point out as we should all know by now that polls can't be trusted, especially when taken from an area under control from dictatorial powers.

Playing devil's advocate here, there is a massive difference between supporting a party/idea in peacetimes vs actually going to war for that same party/idea.

In short, people are generally cowards with a large disparity between their words and actions.

Mayorkas Confirms He’s Still Paying Hamas-Supporting DHS Agent, Who’s Been Gloating About Her ‘Paid’ Vacation

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas admitted to Congress on Wednesday that an employee who was exposed by The Daily Wire as a Hamas supporter remains on the Department of Homeland Security payroll, even as she gloats about her employment online.

Nejwa Ali was placed on leave following The Daily Wire’s report on October 18 about her posts celebrating the Hamas attacks on Israel that killed more than 1,000. At the close of a Wednesday congressional hearing about DHS finances, Rep. Dave Joyce (R-OH), who chairs the subcommittee responsible for the agency’s funding, asked Mayorkas whether Ali was still on the payroll.

How many employees at DHS are Israeli supporters?

I do. I have had contact with many.
And I answered that already in this thread multiple times.

And I asked
Do you?
Which you ducked.
Actually the question was whether you know any, not whether you've had contact with any. There's an important difference. I hadn't seen you mention even having had contact with any Palestinians until just now. Did those you know or have known comment on whether he's a grifter with daddy issues?
I didn't duck your question. You still owed me an answer, remember? Yes I know and have known several Palestinians including from Gaza.

You’re not interested in anything other than gotch bull ****. Even now you are dishonest in an assertion against someone you don’t know. Can you prove he’s a grifter with daddy issues?
Then more dishonesty by not answering the question, while claiming not to duck the question you just ducked again.

Did you read the whole article you posted??? Charts below 12 and 13..speak directly to support for Hamas, support for Hamas in an election, etc...and it overwhelming still supportive of Hamas as well and they would be elected again if elections were held according to your article..

and there is also a difference in supporting the efforts of someone you may not like while they are fighting to defend you; and actually liking them during peace.

fair or not most of these people grew up in a situation where it was Hamas, or an Israel that was actively targeting them, trying to remove them from what they believe is their homeland, and actively destroying their way of life. that is going to spur more support for the local guys than otherwise would exist.

I guess you mean figure 12 and 13?

12 is asking who would you rather see in charge, and gives them set examples.
13 is asking which scenario they prefer from a set of presets.

in both cases they are asking people who has lost their homes to the Israelis, and they asked questions about how they feel about some certain aspects of those who are defending them. sees pretty natural to want a return to the status quo where they hadn't lost their homes.

it would be like asking how many people support Biden. very few. if the US was in a war on our home front, and Biden was fighting back, we would all generally support Biden's efforts to fight back or maintain control. Doesn't mean we actually support Biden. replace Biden with Hamas and you have what the poll is asking.

your argument only makes sense if they didn't ask what their actual support of Hamas was. Figure 25 actually asks that question directly. who do they ACTUALLY support. Support of Hamas is down at 34%. no where close to the 76% that was claimed. If you guys actually cared about the truth you could still use that 34%. Its still the single largest percentage. More Palestinians actually support Hamas than any other individual group; but the support of Hamas itself doesn't constitute three quarters of the population like has been claimed.

"When asked which political party or political trend they support, the largest percentage selected Hamas (34%), followed by Fatah (17%), while 11% selected other or third-party groups, and 37% said none of them or did not know. Three months ago, 43% supported Hamas and 17% selected Fatah"

the fact that you are ignoring what the poll actually says about the direct comments you have been making speaks poorly of you. it gives you a direct answer. but instead you want to hem and haw and take three or four steps to twist something else it actually says into what you believed.

No dude, I'm not playing gotcha. I haven't noticed you say anything at all about knowing Palestinians other than maybe the one person you said was a convert to Messianism and whose origin I don't know.
I didn't say that for sure he was. I think he may be, which is why I wrote "What are the odds that he's a grifter with daddy issues?". Being a 'reformed terrorist' can be lucrative, like with that Shoebat guy years ago. And this guy seems shady.
I'll assume that none of the many Palestinians you know mentioned their opinion of the guy.

Didn’t even read this.
Real life has just hit me hard and I am taking a break from the negative playing for a couple days.

I apologize but sometimes life sucks.
I really do enjoy sparring with you but I appreciate the break

Unhinged Vanderbilt Protesters Call 911 for Help to Change Tampon, Resort to Peeing in Bottles to Avoid Arrest

Student protesters at Vanderbilt University who were staging a sit-in protest against Israel fell into a state of panic over logistical mishaps, and ended up urinating into plastic bottles and calling 911 because a woman said she’d go into toxic shock if she couldn’t change her tampon.

Largely agree.

Strategically, Israel is doing themselves a disservice long-term. They are isolating themselves in a way that could potentially make life rough for decades. Honestly, you could make this argument retrospectively as well via many years of hubris.
