Israel vs Palestinians

Wether or not the US Government does a good job wasn’t really the question I wished to address. It was about the Congressional “democrat” classless and rude reaction to Bibi’s visit. Whether or not they agreed with Israel’s activities, the fact remains that Israel is officially a US ally. As such, Protocol and simple manners call for decent behavior such as we would expect if our national leader addressed their Kenesset. I am not saying the “democrats” had to clap and cheer Bibi; but basic politeness calls for them to at least sit and quietly listen and not be rude jerks. If they want to make statements disagreeing with his speech; there is a time and a place to do that.
But diplomacy has established rules going back centuries. And when an ally visits our country, they are our guest. If you invite your neighbor over for coffee (and yes, Bibi was officially invited by the designated leadership of Congress), it is despicable behavior to insult them while they are in your house.
We are civilized people, not barbarians.

If Trump still had a (D) next to his name instead of an (R) (as he did for most of his life) your side would still be Buddy Buddy with him. He would be lauded by the Dems and MSM (but I repeat myself) as a populist champion of the working Americans and the union voter. But it is always about power for the left, not about policy.
He was BELOVED by liberals up until the very moment he came down that escalator. And you cannot deny that fact

Pretty sure he was hated the moment he went after Obama and his birth certificate.

I know where you are coming from here. But if I recall correctly, it was Hillary’s people who first raised questions about the birth certificate as far back as 2008. I could be mistaken of course.

That is what happened. But Trump certainly became persona non gratta when he tripled down on it.

Politics is a dirty game. Kamela called Biden a racist in the early days of the 2020 campaign but all that was glossed over after he became the nominee. If Trump would have remained a democrat, his earlier statements would have been quickly forgotten. But changing teams is never forgiven apparently

She never called him a racist. In fact she started her criticism of him stating " I don't believe your racist." She then criticized him for his stance on bussing and his relationship with racist Dem senators

I really feel pity for you friend. Truly. I don’t know what the source of your anger and rage is; but I worry that is is unbalancing you.
It really isn't that hard to figure out. We are throwing money and resources into a genocide in Gaza and the destruction of Ukraine... meanwhile, we don't focus on our own border and GAF about average Americans. Supporting Israel and the Kyiv regime does nothing for average Americans.

I can understand that. I do think we are overcommitted in Ukraine and I do also believe the US’s first commitment should be to our own people and our own border. The thing that gives me pause about Russia/Ukraine is my historical reading and the realization that expansionist regimes in Europe have eventually caused widespread chaos if not checked early. If the Allies would have stood up to Hitler over Czechlosovakia in 1938; there would probably never have been the Invasion of Poland and WWII in 1939. Putin needs to know that the entire world is United against him. With Russia’s large advantage of manpower and resources, Ukraine really has no hope of winning and us continuing to pump money into a losing effort doesn’t help them or us. But I do hope that Putin is seeing that he will be opposed if he next tries to reclaim the Baltic states or reclaim some of its past territory now part of Poland.
With Israel; we owe them a special debt. We, along with the rest of the West basically stood back and allowed the Holocaust. We eventually went to war but our indifference and refusal to accept Jewish refugees led to over 6 million deaths. We have a moral obligation to never allow something like that to happen again. And the nation’s surrounding Israel hate Jews so much that they would unleash a new Holocaust if given the chance. We said Never Again. And we meant it

Looks like The Druze community are not buying the propaganda...

He said on Sunday his country might enter Israel as it had done in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh, though stopped short of spelling out what sort of intervention he was suggesting.

President Erdogan, who has been a fierce critic of Israel's offensive in Gaza, told a meeting of his AK Party: 'We must be very strong so that Israel can't do these ridiculous things to Palestine.

If something big goes down in the ME that engulfs most the region, the catalyst will be Turkey making a move on Israel fracturing multiple diplomatic relationships we and European countries have in that region. Total mess.

The frustration with @Rasputin_Vol is that he make some solid points at times but then he comes in with his Russia (and Iran and Palestine) can do no wrong and the West can do no right stick and it just ruins his entire points. If he was just more reasonable in his posting, I think he would be a solid poster on here.

Yep. That’s his entire schtick. Criticize the US for all things (both valid and invalid). Then proclaiming anything Russia does wrong isn’t real and is just “western propaganda”.

It had to break his heart to learn that other Russian trolls actually get paid for this. But he’s just in it for the love of the game.

It seems like the "cool" thing right now for many on both the left and the right is to hate on the United States.

Thanks for correcting my spelling of "schtick".

He appeals to your stances so you think he’s generally in line with you so he can try to set the hook on what he really cares about. USA = bad, all USA adversaries = Good, and Russia/Putin = the gold standard for conduct

One of the best post I've ever read on here was from him. He went on a rant about the US government and how it operates leaving all foreign policy out of it though. Everything else I don't understand his position.
