It doesn’t work… it never has…

I know one thing-- we just went scoreless in the second half versus the 3 highest ranked teams in the SEC. Thats scary. You normally make "adjustments" at halftime and come out and play better.
Our opponents are making their adjustments and shutting our offense down. Something is really wrong...

They are getting familiar with a scheme that has no middle ground. Stop first down and the drive dies quickly… it simply can’t succeed behind the chains

Which it turn turns up too much pressure on our defense ..

It’s built in losses every year

Last year we were amazing when behind the chains. What are you talking about?

Lol what are you basing this claim on? We have a very vertical route tree

We have zero in the middle … and that’s the point

It’s either at the line of scrimmage or deep.

It’s an awful scheme when you need 3rd and 9

We literally threw back to back dig routes to beat Bama last year. You’re just making stuff up as you go

If you think this offense is built to overcome 3rd and long I can’t help you. It absolute is the worst when it comes to other schemes in that down and distance

You are just making things up as you go. This is one of the most vertical offenses you will find, but given you thought the closest thing to what we do was Chip Kelly, I wouldn’t expect you to know that.

But what specifically are you basing your claim on about 3rd and long? Do you have data?

Pace the Oregon comparison was based off pace and yea that’s factual

And throwing HR balls isn’t a scheme for getting 3rd and long sorry

Every team is like the OP's situation. Good defenses stop even the stronger offenses. It just happens. That is why you also need a good defense to compete at a high level.

Next he'll tell us how everyone he knows agrees with him.

No offense is built to overcome 3rd and long. If you find yourself in those situations a lot you’re going to lose no matter what system you run

Plenty of teams play at a very fast pace. Literally all of the teams I mentioned do. Pace has nothing to do with your 3rd down claim. Nor do we only throw deep balls on third and long. We throw slants, digs, hitches, posts, etc.

But back up your claim. Do you have data showing our offense and offenses like it are worse at 3rd and long than other offenses? Or are you talking out of your backside because you don’t know football?

There is no good scheme for 3rd and 9.

We are playing about the way we should be based on the talent we have...particularly the lack of talent in the secondary. These things are being addressed. Let's stack up a few more recruiting classes like the one we are building this year and things will slowly improve. JH inherited a roster that was a dumpster fire outside of a few players. Something like 40 players transferred out his first year. That is a recipe for struggling against better teams, and that hurts you for more than 1 year. Since 2008 we had a grand total of 3 seasons where we won 8 games or more. 2 back to back years under Botch Jones, and one year under Jeremy Blewit. Thats it. Now we have two more, back to back. We have wandered in the desert long enough, and now we can actually win some damn games. Let's count our blessings. Greater talent is coming. We aren't going to win the natty next year, but we might in 2025. It the Jimmy's and Joe's, not the X's and O's. You cannot scheme around better players that you face, they'll just out athlete you. Kirby Smart is not a great game day coach, but he is great recruiter and that is why he is winning. Let's just step off the ledge.

WE ARE NOT ALABAMA, OHIO STATE OR GEORGIA NOW WE NEVER WILL BE AND ONLY WERE IN THE 1950’s. 8-4 to 10-2 coach I’ll take it.

CJH is supposed to be some offensive genius…. Well he isn’t and never has been..

Hear me out.

I’ve gone back and studied all of his 5 years coaching offense in the SEC(1 game shy) and the results are glaring. The man feast on bad teams, runs up stats and routinely gets embarrassed by the good defenses.

Here are the results when you look at his pts per game against OOC opponents(not counting bowls) vs his pts per games vs 9 win SEC teams…

CJH offenses average 44 pts a game against the lesser SEC teams and OOC opponents.

CJH offenses average 23 pts a game against 9 win SEC teams. (Keep in mind that incudes 52(bama), 45 (Kentucky) and 40(LsU) so without those 3 that’s awful.

So let’s face reality. No QB named Nico is going to make this offensive scheme better. Heck we played one good defense a year ago and were embarrassed with a a very good QB in hooker.

We have a coach that puts up big numbers against bad teams and gets his fat ass whipped against good ones. Always has and always will!
Buy a clue

OP you might want to check the talent gap between Tennessee and Georgia right now before you make yourself look like the idiot you surely are making yourself out to be.

Edit: also look at our injuries. We had walk ons at DB last night. We are starting 4th string Lbs. Our offensive line was mcguyvered together with paperclips and shoestrings.
Why did we have walk-ons at DB? Where is Christian Harrison, Christian Charles, Jordan Matthews, DaShawn Rucker?
