It doesn’t work… it never has…

I am sure some are but all aren’t I can assure you of that. Of course some boosters are more influential than others
I can absolutely promise you that there’s nobody that matters that thinks Hypel won’t be here in 5 years

CJH is supposed to be some offensive genius…. Well he isn’t and never has been..

Hear me out.

I’ve gone back and studied all of his 5 years coaching offense in the SEC(1 game shy) and the results are glaring. The man feast on bad teams, runs up stats and routinely gets embarrassed by the good defenses.

Here are the results when you look at his pts per game against OOC opponents(not counting bowls) vs his pts per games vs 9 win SEC teams…

CJH offenses average 44 pts a game against the lesser SEC teams and OOC opponents.

CJH offenses average 23 pts a game against 9 win SEC teams. (Keep in mind that incudes 52(bama), 45 (Kentucky) and 40(LsU) so without those 3 that’s awful.

So let’s face reality. No QB named Nico is going to make this offensive scheme better. Heck we played one good defense a year ago and were embarrassed with a a very good QB in hooker.

We have a coach that puts up big numbers against bad teams and gets his fat ass whipped against good ones. Always has and always will!
How does that compare to what other teams did against those 9 win teams.

If he is ever able to recruit 26, 5 star players like Georgia has instead of the two that the Vols have, his system would never be questioned again ‼️ Better players will result in better results ‼️

bruinvol,Must like to read all your scribes here.Everyone loves a nega vol who crawls out from under his pile of dirty clothes to share his no knowledge upon volnation. You play who you have left to play.Down 4 o-linemen,two receivers, unknown how many db's.Not to say we would have won, but,it's really a waste of my and other vol lovers to answer a toad like you.We follow our vols and our coach .To put you in proper perspective,a water sign and an earth sign are great together, but,in your case,it just makes MUD.

So Bama was a bad team when we beat them.?

UT's OL , QB and WR's were much better last year. And bama's D was the worst Saban has had in recent memory. OLINE DEPTH was the issue this year. There was NONE. And Mays is the only one who could be in Uga or bama's Rotation. Just the facts. Offense doesn't do their part, defense cant play the whole game.

Bear Bryant; You got to have the best players to win consistently..... Common sense.

It's amazing how many UT fans want to go through another coaching change and rebuild.

I'll take an 8-4 season over going thru that BS again

Staff changes are in order. New OC & DC. Then recruit, and go after the portal. The Talent just isn't there! Some, but not enough. I knew no way UT could compete for 60 minutes with a NFL laden Team. Tenn needs 4 Gabe Wrights on the OL!

Banks is fine

Dc under CJH is a death wish and he’s done well

Wouldn’t that be a trend by most if not all teams?? Feast on bad teams? I mean Bama just hung 60+ on utc but they ain’t gonna do that against Georgia or probably even Auburn. You just put in the time and math for an observation that is common sense

I wouldn't totally disagree with that assessment. Hype must get some talented Beef up front, so the Run game (which was very successful until bama/ga) can be counted on; run the ball and keep drives going so the Defense can REST! I think JH saw that and tried it this year, it worked until the Bama and Uga Defenses shut it down. Then, Joe had to make plays, and he didn't. Hype better get it right in 24, cuz Dan Lanning at A&M (My prediction) will make it even harder in the SEC, along with Texas & Okla moving in. Which reminds me, was Lanning even considered as a candidate at UT? Hmmmmm.

But how much fewer ???

Approaching half ??

Hear me out… no that’s too much
“Thats too much” … According to who? I didn’t know you set the national threshold for coach evaluations.

2021 National Championship leg humpers…

47 pts vs unranked teams, 28 vs ranked. Approaching half. So, Kirby is also overrated?

Over 29 to be accurate but since you are asking

29/47 = .62

CJH is 23/44=.52

Not really close to be honest

My entire premise is this offensive scheme isn’t equipped to consistently put us successful stats against good defenses… my numbers prove it.

Couple that with the built in stress this offense puts on our defense it means we are never winning an SEC east title much less a conference title with CJH. There is no such thing as complimentary football with this scheme
No doubt you are a sharp guy, an I appreciate analytics, but it seems like you are too smart to see see the fault in your own thought process.

For the record the bama game was used in the data that looks bad for CJH and his scheme…

So yea that’s a fact
You said we only score against lesser SEC opponents - then when someone said Alabama you claimed they didn't have a good defense last year. Which simply is not true. Therefore, how can anyone take your analysis seriously when you make claims that are factually incorrect.

You do realize the Dc was run out of town don’t you?

Look the bama defense of 2022 was far from a normal Bama defense. Saban made the changes he needed to make and they are back to being elite on D.

You really should fact check yourself before posting. While their stats have improved, they are not significant from last year - 18.2 pts per game last year vs. 17.4 this year. Our game aloneprobably makes up the difference from last year to this year. Total offense last year was 318.2 vs. this year of 310.5.

Stop dying on the sword for Bama and just say that was an anomaly if you want - but quit making comments that are just not factual.

I understand the argument based solely off stats… but as my op states stats can easily be swayed by meaningless pts in blowout games late.

If you compare the last two years of bama defense they have averaged 8pts less given up in every game vs ranked opponents than they allowed last year. Now sure some of that was the tenn game but they gave up less points to LSU and Ole miss this year. Texas did score more against them this year but Texas was playing a backup QB in 2022 against them iirc

The bottom line is the 2023 bama d is Legit. Last year was a down year by bama standards and why the Dc was ran out of town
