if this is true... which its NOT... Hart would know that his fate is sealed. He would be fired within months, maybe a year.
With a million different NFL coaches available, and a ton of other indications pointing toward far more talented players... and you guys are the dog that caught the "Strong" car. Just relax and watch Grude tonite. He's gonna make it all better boys... Youll see.

I personally don't agree with this hire. Not impressed with what he's done at Louisville in a weak Big East. Others will disagree, say he's a great recruiter. I'm not sold.

But I do know it's a step up from Dooley.

I love this hire if it comes to fruition. He will need to bring in a top notch OC. Who are some of the top OC's you guys like?

Butch Jones:

23–14 in the Big East.

50-27 total as a Head Coach.

Would take the job yesterday for 2.25 million per year.

Oh, I would too. I was just replying to a post claiming that Strong wouldn't worry our rivals. The Gators Ii know think he's a slam dunk.

if we hire Gundy or for all thats good in the world, Gruden....I would make the 6hr trip at least twice to come and watch games....if we hire Strong....I will never make the trip....and I will be against him til he wins the East....he is not as proven as the other coaches who are available and if we SETTLE for him then I will not support the football team until he proves he belongs....and dont give me this crap about him going to BCS bc the only reason is bc the Big East sucks...havent seen the latest polls but as of last week NO TEAMS IN TOP 25 in the AP or BCS.....only UL and Rutgers in USA today at 24 and 25...... 2 MAC teams ahead of them and Utah STate....but no matter what I say, the Strong supporters will make excuses for him and his recruiting at a BB school....

Strong is probably the best HC we can get at this particular point in time......most of the Big Name Coaches have stated they are staying put. I never really bought in to the Gruden talk, but It did get me excited for UT's future. Tennessee's current level of talent is a challenge for any HC and we must understand this fact as fans.....If indeed Strong is announced as the new HC at UT we all need to get behind him and give him a chance.....Given time Strong may be able to get the Vols back in the mix....he's definately an upgrade over Dooley

I will support the man 100% and hope he gets us back to being an SEC contender. My only issue is the money. Throwing top SEC money at a coach does not make him a better coach. I honestly hope if hired, the number is not over 3 million dollars or Hart made a mistake IMO.

It would be a great hire. Immediately righted the ship at a Louisville program left Dooley-style by Kragthorpe. Knows how to recruit across the Southeast. Understands SEC-level defense, whether operating a 3-3-5 at USC or a 4-3 at UF.

If we can't make the complete home-run hire, then let's go with a guy who actually has experience taking a piss-poor program from the toilet to the top.
