Unfortunately, the fan base is dead set on Gruden. And IF it doesn't happen, the new hire is going to be off to a bad start regardless.. The Major mistake Hart has made is IF he is not going after Gruden or it is going south, tell the Fanz that he is not going to be the Coach, so at least we can move on!!!

I disagree. Patterson, Kelly, Peterson, even Strong would be welcome with open arms here. It's when you reach for a Gordon that some true Vol fans are going to be very pissed. A hiring like that should call a firing of Hart, and I'm a huge advocate for Dave Hart.

Since we are interviewing Golden then we should be interviewing Butch Davis too....probably get him on the cheap and he is a helluva recruiter and college HC.

You truly don't grasp the understanding of what's at stake here. You think I'm extreme? Haha I know some donors at UT that would scarfice half their wealth to get a great coach here. UT isn't just football to some ppl in Knoxville. It's a way of life and to some it's what they live for other then their families. Call it crazy etc but its the truth.

Golden is not my first choice, but he wouldn't be the disaster most are saying he would be. He won 8 and 9 games at Temple - when was the last time any coach was able to do that at Temple. I mean, Temple? He also walked into a terrible situation at Miami in which he was misled by the AD (Shalayla?) about the extent of trouble they are in for the future. Impossible situation there, and he still has a few quality wins this year. Again, not my first choice, but would do fine here.

How old are you? If you're in your 30's or older and truly believe what you wrote then you need help or a new hobby.

I love UT football as much as anyone on here but I'm not a blind sheep and it doesn't control my life.

Brother you are a fool if you don't think their are people out their that donate to UTK that wouldn't scarfice so much to see us win. It's their way of life. I never said I was one of them yet you assumed I was.You know what they say about assuming... For the record I'm not 30 either

i've said it before hart is a idiot, he will wait everybody out and hire who is the cheapest hire out there. have said it before he should not be allowed to make the HC choice. the guy is a joke.

Golden needs to stay in Miami and finish what he started. When the sanctions were imposed I think he told them he wouldn't bail on them.

I find comfort in how quite UT AD has been. They must have something wrapped up. Surely they can't be so inept as to be doing nothing.

How did Hart get the job as our AD if he is such an idiot? People in his position don't get there by being bad or even mediocre at their job. He did well at FSU and Ala before he got here.
