Its officially Nico Time

Yes, but I don't think he is to blame either. Sure, the 4th quarter spiraled out of control on him, but he was fairly efficient for a good amount of the game. It was unfortunate fumbles, a lack of a running game, and the defense's inability to get a stop and good foeld position that led to this loss. I don't think the team would react positively t9 benching him.
Is he to blame? Not entirely but he shoulders some of it.

You know it won’t. How many series did Nico get against UCONN? You think Heupel is gonna out him in against UGA and Vandy??

I didn’t mind UCONN limited time. The thing is I was fine with Joe as long as we were still in contention for the East. Now that we are OFFICIALLY eliminated, there is no reason to not prep for next year. Because if you think the fan base is starting to get snappy now. Imagine how snappy they are gonna be if we go 8-5 without Nico getting starts this year. 8-5 finish with Nico starting the final 3 games is much different than 8-5 with Joe starting the final 3 games.

I agree with you I just don’t think Heupel wil do it.

We will see. I don’t think Heupel is an arrogant or stubborn guy. But it’s officially prepare for 2024 time now that we are out. I trust him to make the decision because it helps his job. Would I be shocked to see Joe start? No. But do I think Heupel knows starting the Nico era is better for his job? Yes.

Cool the jets.

We looked bad as a team today, excluding the punting unit.

Nico should not go in against GA.

Give him some time in the Vandy game.

Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble about Nico time, but it was Nico time the minute we lost to a very pizz poor gator team. All we have been playing for since then is a 8-4 season .

Milton is being rewarded for being loyal. He will play against Georgia. If we get blown out by Georgia, maybe, just maybe Nico gets the start against Vandy.

Our line is very experienced and decent. Why would anyone fear Nico playing at home vs Georgia?

Lol

I’m willing to bet the same people taking up for Milton are the same ones that tried to defend JG. Milton has been playing college ball for 6 years, 3 of them in this offense. He’s dumb people. He can’t figure out what to do on 4th down, much less read a defense and make accurate throws downfield. There are no excuses for him, none. If we still had Hooker we’d be undefeated going in to UGA. If you want to throw stats out, take a look at yds/competition. Same story with JG. Neither could read a defense and make downfield throws. I don’t know what coach H is up to but I’ll trust him. Go Big Orange.

The Milton and JG comparison are lunacy. I had no issues with Milton starting as it was a long shot we would win the division this year. Now that we are officially eliminated, it’s time for Heupel to start prepping for 2024. There is nothing left to play for this year with Milton as starter. Nico, plenty to play for now.

Milton was 14 of 15 and a TD. What are you talking about???
Milton was 22/34 for 267 yards, 1TD and the pick 6. He also ran for 36 yards. If that is the definition of 'suck' then Brady Cook was puckered up as well. (18/24 275 1 and 1) Our total rushing tonight was 86 yards. Shrader had 207. THAT was the problem. Misery shut down our run game. We couldn't stop theirs.

The absolutely abysmal things we did tonight were allowing them to get back in the game when we had them pinned on their own goal line. THAT is unsat.

With nothing to show for it.

Young guy can get quality reps for next year. Milton had a chance, but his statue presence and second guessing himself double clutching 95 mph fastball throwing self just got handed his third L.

He can work on his coaching career helping a guy, or waste our time in a year we aren't going to win anything of note except a music city bowl, t shirt, and a drunk night on Broadway.

Every couple of games the same jagoffs can't wait to post this.

I’m not a jagoff and I have been very consistent with my stance on Milton and Nico this season. Now that the condition has been met (officially eliminated from the East), it’s time to prepare for 2024 at the QB position.

Playcalling MUST improve no matter who the QB is. What happened to last season when we just had wide open recievers down the field
We had a qb who could flow. Milton looks like a neurotic 6'4" chihuahua with his pink thing hanging out before he double clutches and fires a 106 mph fastball 10 yards over the wideouts head.

Now that we have been eliminated from the East, it is time to let Nico take the reins and get a 3 game start on the 2024 campaign.

It was only a matter of time. Go Vols!
IDK about switching now, why not make sure he's healthy for next sept?
