I've seen a lot of concerns about offensive commits....

Interesting. Are you saying maybe this staff doesn't need to get a QB in this class? Play for an elite QB in the 2011 class?

Or do you think other 2010 QB prospects will start to shine later in this year and that one of them will fit UT better?

I think that camps are good for evaluating, but you can't base everything off of it. Plus, we are still behind in this class and haven't seen any of these guy live at their schools during the season, but that will change this fall. Kiffin prefers live evals instead of tape.

As far as prospects go, I just don't think the staff sees the SEC difference maker RIGHT NOW. Does that mean that there isn't one out there?? No, but what it does mean is that Kiffin is going to be picky with who he gives a free ride to as a QB in his system. Plus, no one has really seen "his system" yet, so it's still early for recruits to become interested at this point.

I do believe that next year is probably the year we take 2 QB's. More meat on the table next year.

Jesus guys, can we at least let the season be played? Who knows what kid is out there who doesn't go to camps and is a no name right now. These kids could be the tip of the iceberg.

Taking a commitment from Jesse Scroggins or Andrew Hendrix is not reckless.

I'm sure they'd be willing to do that. And if some superstar arises from obscurity, we can always tell whomever that his future at UT involves holding clipboards instead of taking snaps.

Uh, yeah he does. Go back and compare film. He may even have a better arm than Leak.

I'll let Leaks HS stats and three straight state championships take care of this argument...

15,593 Passing Yards
185 Touchdown Passes
46 straight wins

I would take Chris Leak in a heartbeat if he was in this class, but one isn't.

How many QB's historically have surfaced after all the elite targets have committed? What you see is what you get this year. If we don't land one of the guys we have already offered, we are going to be on the outside looking in.

Please don't do the stats game. Stats in HS are overrated.

Let's play some football and see if we don't have some prospects that look at us a lot harder than they did when they made a summer commitment. It's early.

North Carolina doesn't quite have the same competition as Cali when it comes to high school football. So comparing these stats to Scroggins' is absurd.

Colt Mccoy Sam Bradford??

Colt McCoy (Visited 1/21/05. Committed 1/23/05) 2005 Signing class Texas.

Sam Bradford (Committed 5/27/05, Visited 12/2/05) 2006 Signing Class Oklahoma.

Graham Harrell (Committed 10/16/03, Visited 1/16/04) 2004 Signing Class Texas Tech.

Those are three of the Top QB's in the past few years, and 2 were later commits.

I'm pretty sure Leak's teammates were also from NC.

Arguing stats between a guy who plays against better competition and a guy who played against lesser competition is ridiculous.

Which is why Leak is playing in the CFL right now. He was all world in high school, but was an average/good QB in college and a nobody in the pro game.

Where are those amazing stats now???

Players in Cali>>>>>>>>>>>players in NC

Wow, that's absurd to me. See how easy that is. I wonder if a state that has more of a population would probably have more players and those players be better?? Funny thing is that no player QB from California in the 2003 recruiting class won the NC in their careers. There are two from that class that did, Matt Flynn, and you guessed it Chris Leak.

Leak's stats were inflated people. Scroggins plays in Cali against some of the best HS programs every week.

There isn't a single HS in the country that remotely comes close to playing in the SEC. I think judging a recruit based on where he's from is extremely overrated.

And the guy that won that championship with Leak is all over Jesse Scroggins.

HAHA see now you're comparing TEAMS not QB's.:eek:lol:

Florida and LSU were better TEAMS, they won despite having average QB's.
