I've seen a lot of concerns about offensive commits....

Arguing stats between a guy who plays against better competition and a guy who played against lesser competition is ridiculous.

Which is why Leak is playing in the CFL right now. He was all world in high school, but was an average/good QB in college and a nobody in the pro game.

Where are those amazing stats now???

He'd have been a lot better had he not had to deal with coaching issues. Jesse Scroggins is still in high school, so acting like he'll do any better than the CFL is probably more ridiculous than comparing high school passing stats.

And the guy that won that championship with Leak is all over Jesse Scroggins.

He's also telling him that he's going to a more pro-style offense. Shades of Tebow being recruited as a LB really. Hell, Meyer probably won't even be there by the time Scroggins gets to campus because he'll be in South Bend, more than likely.

HAHA see now you're comparing TEAMS not QB's.:eek:lol:

Florida and LSU were better TEAMS, they won despite having average QB's.

I brought to your attention that your coveted Cali QB's didn't do crap in that class as far as rings compared to a stat inflated QB in NC that plays weak competition according to you. Where did I mention teams??

Wow, that's absurd to me. See how easy that is. I wonder if a state that has more of a population would probably have more players and those players be better?? Funny thing is that no player QB from California in the 2003 recruiting class won the NC in their careers. There are two from that class that did, Matt Flynn, and you guessed it Chris Leak.

WRONG. USC was co-national champs and Matt Leinart is from...you guessed it CALIFORNIA!

I know I'd take one Heath Shuler over 10 Jesse Scroggins.

Well that would be a no brainer but right now there aren't any out there as this moment for '10 class. I would sure like for this staff to find one.

How does that have anything to do with the esteem he holds Scroggins in? Urban Meyer says he is good enough to run his offense and I think he knows a thing or two about championships.

Dude the defenses and surrounding talent on those teams were great. All they needed was solid QB play. And that's all we'll need soon. Our D will lead us to a title.

The simple point i'm trying to make is that you can't base recruits off of stats, I'd take Lienart over Leak even though Leak had better high school numbers.

He also knows a thing or two about misdirection in recruiting. He's the king liar. It's all good, if Scroggins goes to Florida and Meyer is still there, I won't lose a wink of sleep.

I still don't know what Urban Meyer's lies have to do with Scroggins' ability as a quarterback. The thing that he can promise these recruits is that he knows how to win championships.

There is a reason he's #1 on UT's recruiting board and it isn't only because of the QB situation.

I would like to see Leak in the same offense as Leinart was in at USC, plus if he had the help Leinart did he would have done as well as Leinart, IMO. Leak got Zooked!!

Luring him away from the likes of UT, USC, and others is a good way to pursue other recruits and fodder to arm yourself with when going into a recruits home. Also, sticking it to Kiffin would be more of a victory for him in Meyer's eyes than Scroggins ever playing. There are better prospects in 2011 that would eat Scroggins' lunch that favor Florida.

My point exactly. Lienart's numbers and sucesses were inflated because of weaker competition and the team playing around him. Just like Leak's were in high school.

Not to mention the fact that Lienart had so many guys from Cali on his team. :p (Sorry, I had to do it lol)

You keep bringing up the whole point of Cali, but yet you ignored my original point of it being in the 2003 class. I could pull out many Cali greats, but according to what Leak did in HS and in college he was better than any Cali QB you could compare him to during his time. There is nothing else to argue here.

He was Great coming out of high school, but he was also over-hyped because of the lack of competition he faced. He never lived up to the hype (even with the national championship).

Urban Meyer isn't going to go after a QB that can't win for him just because UT is pursuing him. It is an interesting point and I'll give you credit for that, but I refuse to believe that Urban Meyer is pursuing Jesse Scroggins just to keep him away from UT.

Why then is Pete Carroll? Dennis Erickson? Butch Davis? All those guys have championships and all of them are recruiting Jesse Scroggins.

Considering he accounted for 59% of their offense, I'd say it would have been tough.

He had 1 touchdown pass. They had 3 rushing TD's and a return for a TD. I believe they also had a defensive TD?

He played well, but he didn't win that game for them or anything.
